yes and that fat women was me . had an accident at work today which involved me thanks to some rotten cheap flooring falling through the floor and through the ceiling below with my legs dangling into the canteen below and how did my colleagues help me - yes by laughing at the fat lass ( their words) poking through the ceiling . i have never been so embarrassed in my life they were all too busy laughing to actually help me - sod the fact i was hurt . one of really hurtfull things was when one of them shouted watch your sarnies the fat lass is trying to pinch them.

i really feel too embarrassed to go back to work tomorrow cos i can still hear them laughing. why do people have to be so cruel.

Oh Chris that is just awful! Have the last laugh by filing a claim for compensation! The ignorant cruel so and so's! I'm so sorry pet. That must have been awful and very frightening too.

hes fine stuck in hospital in durham bless him, but at least i got to visit him when i was A and E today, i just cant believe hes at deaths door all because of a gallbladder op it seems crazy.

Oh no, that's truly dreadful and what a truly awful response from your work mates. I agree, you need to be getting health and safety involved and some compensation sorted. I hope the one's that were laughing have time to think about their actions tonight and come and apologise to you tomorrow.

I can understand about not wanting to go back into work tomorrow but I think you should go back with your head held high.

How awful Chris but turn the tables and turn it into a claim. Who on earth has flooring that is so unstable you can fall through it and a ceiling below - for goodness sake get a good lawyer and sue. Best have a few days off anyway as you need to be injured! People are very cruel but if people can claim for a fall involving packing tape being left on the floor I am sure you can claim a lot for going through a floor and ceiling. not sure if i will get to work my knee is huge and getting bigger although i have had a text off my boss reminding me that shes off in the morning so i must be there no matter what !!!

If your knee is swelling get yourself to A&E to get it checked out. You'll need the evidence to sue!!!

Hold your head high - tell em at least you can do something about your weight but their attitude is more difficult!!

Right, first of all your b!tch of a boss can't make you come in to work.

If it was me I'd be up at A&E first thing and be taking the time off work that you are ENTITLED to due to THEIR negligence. I'd also be claiming for the humiliation and embarrasment caused by your fellow caring workmates....sound like a lovely bunch.
As someone else mentioned, what if it had been a pregnant woman, would they still have laughed?

Contact your local council, they have a health and safety officer who will do a site visit to assess the floor structure etc. It obviously is not fit to be used as an everyday passage (no matter the load on it) and you have a very valid claim.

I have to admit that I agree with the others. It might be worth you going to casualty if your knee is swelling. If possible you should go tonight. Have you tried putting a bag of frozen peas on it to help reduce the swelling. Don't forget to wrap it in a towel first so that you don't experience ice burns. If you're not hypertensive taking an anti-inflammatory like brufen might also help. Hope that you don't ache too much tomorrow.
