calling all banders how many fills for you?

hi question is as follows just wondering how many fill are you all on and amount in the band and the amount of saline in it, just curious thanks!!!:)
 
hi i have a 7 mil capacity band i have had 2 fills and i now have 4 mils in my 7 mil band, and my restriction is perfect xxx

Just had my 5th fill today, and now have 6.2mils in a 10mil band.

im having my 5th fill tomorow i have 8.75 in a 14ml band my last fill took me to a really good restriction but its wearing off a bit so im having a tiny bit more in to tighten me up again

Hey Liz
Was your first band the same size as this new one? I had never heard of a 7ml band before, and it seems quite small. Is that because you dont have as much weight to lose? Is the size of the band based on how much you need to lose?

hi MNL yes my 1st was the same size, i dont think its based on how much you need to lose, i did ask and they said that was the size i needed but that was all, i much prefere this new 1 as it feels strangely different/better. maybe that because it had to be placed slightly lower due to the scars the 1st band left xxx

hi everyone found out today i have a 14 ml band and i had 4.5 ml put in and in a couple of weeks im having a xray fill he said its more accurate ,then two weeks after another normal fill how strange the fill was no pain just gurgulling and im a bit burpey now other than that it seems fine he said sloppies for tea so im guessing the old faithfull mash potato for tea!! he said back to normal food tomorrow my weight hasnt crept up between the preop diet and now so im pleased seeing as i had no restriction onwards and upwards!!!

do you, or does anyone know why some people who have the same band size, have different levels of fills? When I went for my 5th fill yesterday, I was taken up to 6.2 mils, in my 10mil band. I had my band fitted almost a year ago. THere was a lady in the same reception area as me, and I asked her if she was having a band adjustment and she said that she was. She said that she had had the band fitted in March, and this was her first fill. When she came out from her fill, I askedher how she got on and she said that they put 7mls in her band. She had a 10 mils band, and they put 7mils in on the first fill. I have now had 5 fills and am still not at that level, I am 6.2 mils. I have also noticed on here that there are other people who have had their band fitted after me, and have more in their bands than I do. Would you know why??

I had my first fill last week. My band is 14ml, I had 6ml in at surgery, and 1 ml in last week .
At this stage my band is half full after 1 fill.

They tried to put in 2mls , but I couldn't swallow.

I thinks mine sounds like a lot for a first fill.

the amount of fill they put in depends on how quickly the barium meal passes through the band, they judge this at the time of the fill. if it doesnt go through to well then they will lessen the fill and vice versa.
 
do you have to have a barium drink when you have a xray fill i know i hate annaseed i would throw up if i had to have it what flavours are they??
 
I have had one fill, going to book in for another in a couple of weeks x

If you are having the fill done under xray then I believe that you would have to have the barium. It is tolerable, it tasted like peppermint, not aniseed. I think I had to take 4-5 sips of the barium meal, and they really weren't that bad.
