I a so disgusted in bosses behaviour how dare she do that ? i just came home and i am stunned for words.:sigh:

Hi hun do you work for a big company or little company, do you have a HR department or in the union, that is so out of order, What you told her was confidential and not to be office gossip, I would be mad !! I am mad for you hun..... I have not told my boss yet !!!

I'd complain to the next person up. That is disgusting

That is sooo bad Maz.

Can you talk to the owner then? They should be aware their manager isn't a good one.

As for the idiots - well you will have the last laugh, when you are slimmer, fitter and still have a good brain and heart and a maturity they never will have.

the boss is the owner , she didnt see why i was annoyed. she as bad as the staff. felt i was on show the day if ididnt need the mney i would have quit . god i so cant wait to be thinner so i can get a real job as i think being as i am restricts my limits, i have great experience in admin etc but my weight puts any employer off, people say aww dont be silly but i know i get judged,so dead end jobs its been for past year this operation means more to me than anything all i want it to be seen for the person i am not the fat person they see. pre op tomoz lets hope all goes well as i dont think i can take a set back

Well there you go then, you will have a new life to look forward to afterwards, while they are still in their little chippy. Good on you, and good luck to you xxxxx

Oh hon I really feel for you! Your boss had no right to discuss this with other employees. You have the right to confidentiality. The lack of respect they have shown you is quite frankly disgusting. Keep your chin up sweets. Don't let the ignorant bu**ers get you down.

Dont let these irrisponsible jealous people get you down hon, you will have the last laugh when you lose all that weight and they are envious of you. The younger ones are irrisponsible and dont know any better. Your boss on the other hand should have known better. I am angry for you and I would have told her so in no uncertain terms. Good Luck with the rest of your wls journey xx

Oh Marie ... that is sooo out of order. What a horrible, immature woman. What do you think she will do if you do not go back to work next Friday as she says you must? There is no chance you will as recovery takes longer than a week, so if the worst comes to the worst & she fires you, you can take her to a tribunal & have the last laugh, as what she has done is so unprofessional. Keep a diary of all the nasty, discriminating comments anyone makes to back yourself up should it come to this Then you can find a job as a new slimmer with a company that appreciate you. Chin up, hunnie :)

That's shocking! If there is nobody to complain to try and focus on yourself and how good you are gonna feel. I hate that people are so judgemental. You are doing something to get healthier. Like someone else said probably jealous.

good luck sweetie!!

Hi Mazband, I think the others have all voiced what I would say. However, if you get a sick note from your doctor she can do nothing about it. If I were you I'd get one for at least 2 or 3 weeks. If she carries on in this vein, and you end up leaving because of it, you can actually get her for constructive dismissal. Citizen's advice are very good for information etc.

If you have worked there for more than a year take legal advice. As your employer she has a duty of care to maintain the bond of trust between you two and clearly she has broken it. You have an excellent case for constructive dismissal here and if you won it you would get tens of thousands of pounds in compensation. You would have to leave there quickly on the grounds that her breach of the bond of trust has made it impossible for you to stay.

I would request meeting with her to inform her that you are taking legal advice regarding her breach of her duty of care and watch this ***** squirm

Fantastic advise as ever from Karlos.

I feel awful for you, your boss is so out of order, it's ridiculous; I really hope you find a way to give her the comeuppance she deserves.

Take care xx

Your job is hard bloody work and i doubt you will be fit to go back soo soon. Balls (excuse me) to her the stupid Cow (excuse me). You are importnat so look after yourself and think of the good times to come. She is most prob jealous x

That's awful - I'm disgusted all the actions of everyone involved!

You take as much time off as you need hon, as long as you have a medical note they can't force you back - and as soon as you've recovered you go find a job that's worthy of you! I know what you mean though, I spent years doing jobs that I was really over-qualified for, but would always get turned down at interviews over the tall, thin, pretty one (especially as I specialised in media!) Wasted years doing that, then got made redundant which was a kick up the ar*e - got myself together, got out there and now I work in the CEO office of a national charity!

You've done amazingly well so far (I start my pre-op diet tomorrow and a bit nervous, but have realised that if you can do it, so can I *lol*) Don't let the haters kick you down. And start polishing off that CV ;-)

I feel so angry that this stupid woman has made you feel like that. I know what it's like to have to grin and bear it for the sake of a job, but if she keeps on at you, I'd, at the very leats, threaten her withh a solicitor's letter. As an employee, you have rights which include the right to confidentiality. This ignorant woman obviously doesn't understand this. I am the type of person who would let her know. I would search the internet for info on this, print it off and hand it to her... Scare the s**t out of her (sorry, but so angry!)

Anyway, you'll have the last laugh. Keep up the good work, and good luck for your op.

Do as Karl says and I was tired for weeks, the doc said 6 weeks before doing usual stuff and boy you will need it.We are all different but many have said they were sorry they went back too soon.

Hey Maz,
don't let the b*****s get you down. Like everyone else has said. You are number 1, so look after yourself. Ignore the idiots they are probably so jealous and you will show em.
Chin up, head high, and T**s out!

hugs
