The care manager has just come to see me and said that like every operation there's a risk but it's miniscule. Don't worry, my op is tomorrow morning and I keep asking myself about the risks, I'm freaking out but I'm trying to remain as rational as possible Let us know how you get on!

Thanks summer I'm actually feeling quite calm at the moment don't know if that will change tomorrow morning but I've spoke to surgeon and he's put my mind at rest a lot so I will update when I can after op still can't believe I'm here and it's happening xx

That's good, I think speaking to people about it and asking as many questions as possible helps doesn't it. What time is your op? Mine's at 10. I know what you mean! It doesn't feel real does it, I feel like I'm in a dream. I just can't wait for it to be over.

At the hospital now eeek. I'm bricking it. I know it's bad but I can't stop thinking about everything going wrong and the worst case scenarios. I'm hoping that once I see the dr I'll feel better.

Summer, you will be fine it's normal to have all these emotions, this is life changing surgery. Stay positive and in a couple of weeks you will realise how worth it surgery has been. Sending you a hug x

Thank you all. It's all done now, I've been drifting in and out of sleep since 2. I can't believe it's all over now. I'm in a bit of pain but I'm managing. I cried like 3 times before the surgery but now it's all okay. I hope everyone is okay, especially SJ.

I can't drink until tomorrow so I am so parched! Doesn't matter though, I'm so happy I'm on the otherside.

Vaseline all the way apparently it helps with lips. Glad to hear it went well for you -- it sounds like they stick to times too. Still waiting to hear from sj.
- hope she's well- if she decided to go through with it. How's the pain? Let us know about the barium meal too

I read the consent form yesterday - they really do cover themselves, and scare us in the process, lol.

Yeah now that everything is settling down, I've been slathering vaseline on my lips. I must look so good with my oily lips and my sexy thrombosis stockings haha!

The barium meal was fine, I'm really weird with things like that but it was three sips and that was it. It might vary from provider to provider though. It wasn't the most pleasant tasting drink but it wasn't too horrific.

I barely slept and felt really bad yesterday, not feeling amazing today but I am feeling better and very positive.

I've still not been allowed to drink anything yet so my mouth is like the sahara dessert. They've brought water to me and it's on my table but I can't drink it until the doctor comes to see me.

Yay another one on the bench, glad you are ok, pain will get better and it's surprising how fast you start to recover xx
