It's 8 weeks since I had my RNY and I've got to say, if I had to make the decision again I would not have the surgery.
I was 13 stone with very mild type 2 diabetes. Now I'm 11 stone without diabetes, and I have to cling to all the horror stories about diabetes to try and make this experience bearable.
My stomach aches all the time, whether it's from hunger, acid or just for the hell of it. I'm constantly exhausted: not tired, exhausted. I'm incredibly lucky to be self employed and currently have a very low workload because I have no idea how I would go back to an 8 hour day even part time.
Reading some of the threads here strikes real fear into me. People have suffered horrifically, sometimes for years, and I don't see them posting any more.
