Diary of cheryls gastric band. Mon 20th october, dolan park

Well once you've got the Rabbit you'd best stay in all weekend! LOL

i just went downstairs to treat myself to a glass of milk and guess what there is none left, a fridge full of food that they can all eat and i cant touch, but they have drunk all the milk!

the big cut above my tummy button is the only one that is covered. i pulled it back and looked tho, its about 2-3 inches long, the port is behind it. my own g p thinks they look great, i think i look like a victim of a random stabbing incident.

cowgirl, is the pre op still going good? hope ur not cheating, i never did once and it was worth it. dr siggurdsson says that the whole op procedure is easier. dolan park phoned me today to see how i was feeling. isnt that were u r going?

i am going to sleep now. this forum is great. and i feel so happy to have found it. thanks girls for all the craic. will post tomorrow. nite nite

The pre op is very hard! I cant wait not to be hungry!
No Im not having it done at dolan park, Im down south and having mine done in Essex. 4 days! Woop woop!xxxx

morning all.
today i woke up, or should i say was woken up by kids at 6.15am, went to loo( cystitis powder seems to be doing trick), had pain killers,(just in case), drunk an actimel,(to put something in pouch) and helped get kids out to school and now i am free. my groceries come this morning from asda. what a shame i cant eat any of them!! what am i saying!! thank goodness i cant eat any of them. old habits die hard. i love food ( reason of gastric band). it was either that or i was going to have to buy a tapeworm from somewhere...
i will send paul out for my bassetts soft and chewy vits and benefibre. poor man he is run ragged at minute looking after me.( wait till next week all the kids are of for halloween). hope he doesnt run off. (if he does i am going too!!!).
but actually i feel totally exhausted this morning. i really have to try and get some nourishment into me. will post later but so far so good.
a few farts would help....

well girls, i have had an actimel for breakfast, a milky coffee for lunch and a frozen milk lolly this afternoon. i have been drinking alot more, as my g p rand me this morning and told me that my urine sample shows i am dehydrated.and guess what have been farting like a trooper! whey hey, today is a good day. the lolly was lovely.
i know alcohol is liquid but that doesnt count on this liquid diet, does it? its friday and i havent had that friday feeling for ages.and i was wondering about having a wee glass. maybe its not a good idea..i am on painkillers and i have just had a big operation!!!nobbys nuts and crisps with homemade salsa is my vise on a friday night. sod it, i will just have a milk....and bring out all my slim pictures knowing that will be me again soon! bring it on. this time i will appreciate it more, and be happy, and know that its permanent. i never enjoyed being slim before because as soon as i was slim i started eating again and started worrying about all the weight i was putting on. i was only a size 12 and thought i was fat. omg wise up you silly woman. it will be bliss when i am a 12 again.
only one thing i have a stitch in my left hand side. is that ok? anyone have this?

i need you

girls i need a reply:confused:. i have been doing my head in all day.... i had clear soup for lunch, must have been too much as i felt like bursting. could this move my band? does dr sigurdsson stitch our band in?
on a good note i got my benefibre today.. thank goodness i havent been to loo since last saturday!

Hey Cheryl :)

Sorry I can't help, I'm sure one of the banders will soon! Try having 2 servings of benefibre for the first couple of days to get you going ;)

Hiya Cheryl,

I dont know about Dr Sig stiching in band will ask him on Monday when have mine and let you know. Im sure youre fine and have prob just ate a little too much, remember you've hardly had anything for the last 2 weeks. Im almost positive im going to have moments like this and think OMG what if the band has moved? what if i've stretched it? what if its snapped? Im sure it is part and parcel...... but Im also sure that you are fine.

Oh and I know this is a really stupid question but what do we class as clear soup? Ive seen it written etc and I havent got a clue?

Hope your feeling better.

hi cheryl
yes my band is stitched to muscle and mr sig did mine..
i have read your posts and as foe the wedding i would say maybe have your fill after the wedding as when you have fill you have to stay on liquids for 3days and then mush and after a week back to normal food.
i was sick after my fill too and you want to enjoy your day at the wedding hun..
takecare emma

My understanding of clear soup is that it is stock based with no bits, and is clear :) So you can either get packets of miso soup powder from the supermarket (or I think the 10 cal soups are clear), or make your own.

To make your own, make up some stock, add whatever you want to flavour it with (meat, veggies, etc), and simmer for a while to infuse the flavours, then strain through a seive so you're only getting the liquid. Don't puree all the meat/veggies into it, as then it won't be clear.

Hi Dee

Clear soup is not too creamed and no bits at all. Ive been told anything you can get up a small straw is fine!

Baileys it is then! Wey hey!!!!!

Good luck for tomorrow doll, I'll be hot on yor heels on Tuesday girl!!!

hi dee
you can also have creamed soup with no bits. so really any soup as long as it sieved.
need an answer about this stitch in my side. anyone come across that before? its on my left hand side, feels like i have a stitch after running (except i havent been).
by the way to all you girls about to be banded ....good luck. you will feel so proud of yourself after its done.
i do.although i vant stop thinking about kebabs, currys, pizza anything really...

Hi ya, yeah i had the same. Its just the muscle that the port is stitched too, its so sensitive and yes feels like u've been running and have a stitch and also the pain u have is wind and if you feel bursting its just because your so swollen , full of gas and when u eat the soup with all the swelling it will do that. all Perfectly normal as long as of course its not excruciating pain. If its bearable and just a niggle its normal. Once all the swelling has gone down it is so much more comfortable xxx
