No it doesn't. It serves to remind us that there are lots of ways to achieve. I bet for you the 'little 10k walk' is a true challenge and will be a massive achievement. For me, walking the children to school on a regular basis and halving the time that it takes me, has been a true achievement. I love reading about everyone's achievements, especially when I was pre-op, as it inspired me to battle on so that I could be one of those people who inspired others in the future (I hope).
