disappointed with weight loss

Miss DeeDee

Post Opper
Since my op on 29th nov i have only lost 9lbs - i am so disappointed with this, its heartbreaking to go through it all and only loose this

Aw Hun, do you log your food intake on any of the sites? They may show if you are taking enough protein etc in. Also drink more if you can. It's just not possible to not lose so maybe you are just a slow loser, take heart in the fact that the hospital recommend 2lb a week and you on target with that, also maybe you will not suffer with the saggy bits as your body is taking it steady. xx

Chin up Hun ur doin well

I had mine on the 30th of Nov and have been sitting at 12 pounds. It's a little depressing, but keep your chin up, I have faith we are not stopping here. This time next year we will be totally different people:)

W A T E R is the answer chick! When fat cells break down they then re-fill with water, if you are not having sufficient flluids then your body naturally holds this fluid for extra time & are expelled from body via peeing and breath - HATE hearing myself say this but it is so true that the more you drink the more you shrink! Only water tho not mailbu and pineapple LOL!
Try upping your fluids & lbs will start to shed!

all of the above honey, but also starvation mode. Your body is storing food because all of a sudden its not getting anywhere near like it used to. Once it realises its not gonna starve you will start losing, good luck sweet :) xxx

After my weight being stuck for weeks now, I had quite an indulgent Xmas and boxing day foodwise, then had spent the last few days really upping the fluids to se what would happen - scales today show a 1kg drop since boxing day!!! I don't know if it's just the fluids, or maybe the higher calorie intake over the 2 days of Xmas helped too, but drink drink drink and I bet you see a difference soon xx

Don't be disheartened, Doughie, lovely :) We are all different & my first month was a nightmare ... thought they had not done the surgery at all, just had a look  Up to 6 weeks I averaged 1 to 2lbs per week but now I am eating up to 1000 cals & drinking AT LEAST 2 ltrs, I am losing about 3 to 4 lbs a week, sometimes 5lb. Now I know this is not as much as some, but this does not concern me ... I am doing what I should & it is moving so I am happy. Even 2 lbs a week is 8 stone ish in a year ... now that can't be bad, can it. :) chin up, sweetie xxx

i have had a litre of water today and 2 x 200 ml of orange juice - how much should we be drinking a day - thank you xx

I was told a minimum of 2 ltrs but more if I could manage it up to 4 ltrs. I never manage 4 ltrs but sometimes get to 2 1/2 & this is when I see most weight loss :) xxx

i can only manage about a litre a day... that is usually by having nas squash and a few cups of tea... there is no way i can drink any more

You will as time goes on - you just have to train yourself to carry a bottle with you at ALL times and sip from it all the time, it becomes second nature eventually! (I'm sitting here with a coffee and my trusty bottle of NAS squash, trying to finish it so I can go to bed lol)

After talking to Kate today - i think i wasnt eating enough under 600 cals a day

so today i have had

3/4 of a wheetabix with lots of milk

2 melts crackers with low fat cream cheese

prawns and avacado for lunch

caul cheese and cod with cheese sauce for tea (low fat cheese)

probably double what i was eating before - feel absolutely stuffed now with all the liquid too

Trust me Doughie ... Everything about this journey gets easier with time. I could not drink much at your stage but do now :) same with eating. Just do as much as you can. My weight loss definitely sped up when I could eat & drink more & so will yours, honey xxx :)

i do have a bottle of drink with me all the time... if i havnt got tea ive got squash... even when i went to tesco earlier i was sipping nas squash walking round, then it sits in my cup holder in the car so i can sip when im driving.. i feel like im forever drinking... but it still only works out about 1100ml

Don't worry too much about the fluids I only manage 1200mls a day sometimes less on odd occasion 1400mls but generally 1200. I have had many blood tests and I'm not dehydrated or anything so the level I'm drinking is fine for me so docs say.

This is quite normal. It took me a good month to start losing weight. I actually put on 9lb after the op. im 2 years out snd got down to 10 stone in 8 months so dont worry or clock watch and it will come off
