Do You Need B12 Injections For Life

Can you please tell me, do you need B12 injections every three months, and vitamins for life after a Sleeve, and is it the same for a Bypass.

I have asked for a Sleeve, now not sure if I should have a Bypass.

I am on a lot of meds for Rheumatoid Arthritis, just wondering which would be the best option.
I have asked this question at the hospital, but they don't seem to give me any answers.

With a sleeve you just have multi vits for the first year compulsory then after that depends on how your body copes I assume, I havent been offered a B12 injection as yet I am 11 weeks post op

Hi willow, just multi vitamins for me. My team don't feel that b12 injections are necessary for the sleeve but I know that all providers are different.

I'm a bypasser and because of the malabsorption element of a bypass, I have to take daily multi vitamins and have a B12 injection 3 monthly for life

I'm almost 2 years out and my weight loss has stopped now. I'm very happy though. I've gone from 23st 8lb to 9st 9lb

Thanks Willow. 7 months out and nearly 8 1/2 stone down, this surgery has completely surpassed my expectations and I can't believe that I'm 7lbs for having a 'healthy' bmi.
