My Doctor was like that too! just keep trying the final time when he agreed I wrote everthing down and took it with me, I printed of the Pct requirements and told him I met them listed all the diets I had been on listed all the pills and wrote about my poor familys health history. I also listed down any problems I am suffering with including aches and pains and told him it would cost the nhs more in the long run if I didnt have the surgery and he agreed after approx 2 years of asking trust me keep trying.
If i remember right with a bmi of 61 you should qaulify without any co morbities.
try and find out who ur local Pct is and give them a ring and ask what their requirements are its best to know ur stuff before you go in. they were most helpfull with me.
and be prepared to tell the doctor you have spoken to the pct and you will be getting a second opinion.
