I am one of the fortunate ones & have had no problems eating at all. :) I don't dump or at least have not up to now & eat everything my family does, just much smaller portions. I have also eaten out on lots of occasions with no ill effects. I do watch what I eat & I never go over 1000cals, but this is more than enough for a tiny tum xxx :):)

That's great! I can't wait to get the pre op diet over the op and all the liquid and soft foods. Il be happy when I can eat normal food again but just alot smaller portions xx

I am 62 and how different my life would have been if I had had this done when I was younger. Been fat since5 years old ... What a waste of my life. But hopefully will soon have my op and I can try to catch up on some of it soon.

Good luck!!! I personally don't think that you are too young!!!

I had my gastric bypass three months ago on my 62nd Birthday. It has changed my life dramatically as I can now breath when I climb the stairs, don't have to use my angina spray anymore, have got my diabetes under control at long last and can now walk again. I put away my disability scooter a couple of months ago and haven't looked back. :D

If the opportunity comes for someone to have weight loss surgery then I would advise them to take it with both hands no matter what age you are and you will never look back.

It is strange the little improvements you will find in your life when the weight loss happens. It is not the fact that you can now wear a bikini (which in my case would never happen lol) but the fact that you can cross your legs comfortably, can put your socks on, can wear one size fits all tights etc. To be able to shop in any clothes shop and not have to trawl the web looking for the Big Lady Sizes anymore.

Also hearing from your doctor that you have actually added an extra 20 years to your life is absolutely priceless :D:D:D

Not at all hun - the nerves are totally understandable! Just try to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel and how amazing you're going to look post-op x

I hope you chastised her severely for that!?! Although I have to say that is one of my biggest fears - that once they let all the air out (ie post-op) I suddenly age 10 years eeekkk! x

Im 23 and had my surgery in July 2011, best thing iv ever did and glad I never put it off, iv always said I'm doing this for me and no1 else so sod what they say....... Most people are happy, the only ppl who have been a little offish is ppl who carry extra weight that I no but it's ur body and ur life xxx

Thank you!! I dont think there is any age that is to young or old, how ever there are small minded people out there that do think I'm young and can do it myself there clearly people that don't know me and how hard I've tried :( but anyway I just posted this to open my eyes a bit and see who is out there and there stories :) xx
