Does anyone know if there's a pattern in who is / isn't likely to dump ... ?

If you loved sweet foods before are you more likely to dump on them, or is it random ?

I've not seen much info around on this ...

most people dump on sweet foods im 1 of them some thing as simple of cornflakes makes me dump because of the sugar over load in them, its rare ppl dont dump, i dont know if the people that dont dump see this as a good or bad thing x

Dont think there is any formula for dumping, funny Liz dumped on cornflakes yet I can eat Fast oats with syrup and not?
I was really ill on a tiny bit of chippy fish and four chips though!

I've got a sweet tooth so I'm really hoping I do dump, not because I'm a masochist but because I know as soon as it's happened once I definitely won't want it to happen again so it'll scare me off the sweet stuff! :p

I had the sleeve and I don't dump. But I know the feeling that if I eat another bite of something I will be sick. If I eat sweets or greasy foods it makes me not feel good. Fast food just doesn't even look appealing anymore.

I'm like Liz - I can't eat any cereals, they all have too much sugar for me.

I can't eat anything with more than about 12% sugar with any safety. I have to read labels really carefully!

Sometimes I dump when I eat carbs, too. If I have dumped once in a day, I stand a greater chance of dumping again that day or the next, it seems - sometimes on random stuff. It doesn't happen much now, but I will have to always be aware of it.

I've never dumped. I do watch my sugar intake and try to never eat anything above 9% sugar.

Thanks guys. I'm surprised at conflakes. Didnt they'd have much sugar in them !

i used to be more lapse when i was banded, i used to eat cornflakes with out a thought of the sugar content because there was obviously no dumping as a consequence, since bypass ive had to be ever so carefull and be more thought aware of what my food choices are, this is the biggest difference ive found between the 2 different procedures and having lived with them both they are very very different, another thing that makes me dump is tomato soup as thats loaded in sugar and also ketchup.

im 8 weeks post op, i haven't experienced dumping, and dont really want to, before the op i had a really bad sweet tooth, cola sweets biscuits cakes anything sweet really now that i have had the op though i can genuinely say i have never once craved any sweet 'naughty' stuff thank god, i dont think i have had an addiction transfer what everyone was talking about i think im one of the lucky ones not to have bad cravings. i just hope it stays like this :) xx

Hi barbara18.

You would definaltey know if you had an addiction transfer. You'd be gambling all your money away or drinking alcohol all day :). Or at the gym 24/7. lol

lmao, well unfortunatly i had that before having the op...... Bingo and still have it now. but i have not experienced any other. thank god dont want to be a gambling alcoholic lol, a dont mind the gym one though ;p

i have not experienced dumping yet and i think it is because i am afraid of dumping. I have not eaten anything except Popsicle since my surgery 5 days ago. I think i am just to scared that i will dump to chance it.
