I want to shrink!
At A + E at the moment. Saw District nurse this morning and also spoke to my team.

I have th biggest boil\abcess I've ever seen.

Its soooo painful and in a very embarrassing place (muffin top). Its as big as my hand and has been leaking all weekend. Having to use ST's to soak it all up (TMI).

Been here 2 hrs already, seen triage. Waiting to see surgeon to find out if I need an op.

Has anyone else experienced this. Appanently it can be bowel connected or cos of deficiency.

ouch ! hope they get it sorted for you asap hunni
( sorry early days for me so not had any problems like this )

I had an abscess under my 'apron' last year and had to have it removed under general. I can only say I totally and utterly sympathise with you. It was agony!!

I had one on my bum when I was 7 too. That was done under general.

Used to get a lot of boils before they discovered I was diabetic, never anything as big as you described but even now I can remember how painful they were. You really have my sympathies.

Dani,

You made me laugh out loud. X

I am presuming youre a nurse or got a serious fetish lol

The doc gave me a choice

Stay in overnight on I V Anti biotics or
Take oral anti biotics and pain killers home but go back on Wednesday to have it checked.

So i choose home of course I'm sat in the bath as I type and the relief is amazing.

They did a swab, doesn't need to drain it as its already draining.

Just nice to be home. Had a lovely table picnic with hubby and daughter, didnt eat much, but I'm glad to say I don't eat much nowadays anyway!

XxxX

You take it easy and hope its sorted soon xx as if you havent been through enough this year xx Lots of TLC needed xx

Sounds really horrible, you poor thing. Hope you feel better soon.
Hope your lads wrist isn't broken MQ
xx

Dani... you fruitloop lol xx

Ouch

I feel for you, I used to get loads on the base of my spine when I was a lot younger and the pain was dreadful, I still get the odd flare up now some 45 years later, but they don't last long before they pop as the skin is now so weak. Mine where related to a fissure.

Next time you take a bath dump a load of salt in it, it really helps with the healing.

Hope it clears up fast. I am surprised they didn't pack it at the hospital, perhaps they don't do that any more.

All the best

Paul
