Ouch

I feel for you, I used to get loads on the base of my spine when I was a lot younger and the pain was dreadful, I still get the odd flare up now some 45 years later, but they don't last long before they pop as the skin is now so weak. Mine where related to a fissure.

Next time you take a bath dump a load of salt in it, it really helps with the healing.

Hope it clears up fast. I am surprised they didn't pack it at the hospital, perhaps they don't do that any more.

All the best

Paul

I could pass out at the thought of daily packing and unpacking. It was agony on my bum as a kid. But my abscess had been so big and deep last year it had to be double pack and was so bad to be done everyday. I am going hot thinking about it :(

Hope your ok Lou-Lou.... I cant even imagine how painful it must be, I am a cry baby over a blind spot on my chin!
Hope you anti-b's kick in and you get better soon xxxx

Oh bless you Lovely. Glad you've got anti b's for it and it's going to get better soon. Will keep you IMP's

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on Joe. His arm is broken, right across the radius about 2 inches from his wrist. Poor things in a half slab as it hasn't swelled much yet but has go to back on Monday for a full cast.

The doc gave me a choice

Stay in overnight on I V Anti biotics or
Take oral anti biotics and pain killers home but go back on Wednesday to have it checked.

So i choose home of course I'm sat in the bath as I type and the relief is amazing.

They did a swab, doesn't need to drain it as its already draining.

Just nice to be home. Had a lovely table picnic with hubby and daughter, didnt eat much, but I'm glad to say I don't eat much nowadays anyway!

Nasty!! I feel so sorry for you. I suffer with abscess/boils and they are very painful. having one that big ouch! very painful x

Rayne, If you have a medical condition which means you have to take a toilet break at other times your employer would not be able to deny you a break. Get your doctor to state this along with having to drink your water.
Just spoke to my best mate who is senior personnel officer for our local council and she has several people working there who have doctors letters saying the very same thing, and by law they have to adhere to what these doctors recommend.
Give her the letter and go to the toilet when you bloody want, she can do nothing!!!
What a nasty biatch she is.

re: your abcess hun i had 3 in a year in teh same place....had to have surgery to have them drained and then daily packing till it healed...its a good sign that its draining on its own, im sure the anti-b's will help it go too....

Sounds exactly the same as yours Mags.

I'm back at the hospital this afternoon. My bloods showed high indicators of infection and inflammation so I hope they will be lower today.

Mine popped after a few days, I was taking hot baths but t has left an ulcerated crater about as big as a 50p. Doesn't seem much better to be honest. Not sleeping good and in pain constantly, can't get comfortable. Cos it's on my pubic bone (as you so politely put it) it's in an awkward place.

Oh well I'Ll see what the Doc says later.
Xx
