Hello again!

I was just wondering about the easyband, you know, the one that you don't have to have a port with. They just adjust it electronicy. Is it available on the nhs? I'm unsure of wether to go for the band (cos I'm a bit wierd with the port being there, I'm sqeamish) or the bypass (it's a riskier op) I would love it if I could have an easyband on the nhs. .......dreams.....sigh......slim.....nice clothes.....saggy boobs:eek:.....oh well, you can't have your cake and eat it, so to speak! lol:8855:

sorry I can't help you with this but I'm sure some one will be along soon who can. I've never even heard of this method..

they say that, that kind of band is really expensive and not done on the nhs due to the cost of it, ive only heard of a few ppl that have had it and they paid privatly in ireland, i dont know any one in this country that has 1.

if anyone has 1 please speak up as id be interested to hear how your finding it.

I looked at this as an option when i was consdering a band, the only place i'm aware of that you can get one in the UK is Healthier Weight.
It looks to be the dogs danglies as you dont have fluid fills, and no port to fail, no port pain and its adjusted electronically from outside the body.

The only downside i could see having this option was the cost as its about 1k more than a normal band, but i'd guess its easier and cheaper to adjust the band, so over a period of time you'd probably save !

what happens if the electronics malfuntion dont know if i fancy that

You would still have a device to receive electronic information sewn to your abdominal wall - so apart from being a little more "SPOCK" than the normal method, I don't see a massive difference.

And if it failed, what do they do then?

good comment dj, even tho i have 1 failed band behind me im still glad i did it. if i hadnt id still be very over weight and unhappy, but most of all id have the "what if " on my mind for the rest of my life.
