February 2014 Surgeries

Gastric band on Tuesday 4th feb!

Hi I am due to start my pre op diet tomorrow and then in to the Yorkshire clinic on Tuesday for my gastric band. I'm so scared, nervous but excited!
Haven't told anyone which makes it more difficult so expressing my feelings on here.

I'm only in day case so no need take too much but will have an overnight bag packed in the car just in case lol maybe a book or game to take the mind away before the op (not sure what time im going down) have packed lip balm and dry mouth spray after reading so many other recommendations, Other than that, dressing gown slippers and comfy clothes for journey home and cushion just in case needed in car.

dont think there is anything else needed hmmmmmmmmm but be sure to let me know lol

Hi Laura welcome hun :D good luck with the pre op diet, ive been on mine since last thursday another week to go op next thursday :eek: nerves not really kicked in just yet lol

Hi Laura. Not long on pre op diet then, great for you. I had a band n it was fab. Surgery was fine n recovery. I had mine taken out last march due to slippage caused by arthritis meds making me so sick, nit the bands fault. I lost and maintained six stone loss. Soon as came out I put it back on. So having bypass or sleeve if I have to 13th at Luton, subject to being well enough as Ive had recent knee surgery! Grrr

I'm taking 2nighties and some PJ bottoms, coming home in the clothes I wear to go in, medication, dry mouth spray, underwear, socks, dressing gown, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap not soup!!, a few flannels (for face and body) my phone and charger. That's about it. I may borrow my mums iPad even though I have an iphone. Will be easier to watch and read things on :) that's all as far as I'm aware. I also have to pack clothes for my mums as I'm staying with her for a few weeks while I recovery. That will just be leggings tops and pjs lol obv underwear and socks too lol x
Oh and hairbrush and bobbles!

Eek! I'm ten days after you :) I would defo take a few bobbles with you. Depends if its hot or your hour falls in your way . How r you feeling ? You having by pass?

When I had my gastric band fitted in 2007 I looked heavily pregnant afterwards where they new me up to do the op. make sure u take comfy loose trousers with you to come out in.

Then I lost loads of weight n my kid fitted in clothes with me :)

Then I had lipo to remove stubborn areas and then had a brilliant tummy tuck. I was loads slimmer after that :)
Then I lost my band n put the lot back on :(

Yes having bypass, nervous and panicky but know it's the right thing for me. Can't wait to start living life x

didn't see these till after my last reply .............. omg what a transformation hun must have been gutted to loose your band after all you'd been thru and even more gutting to regain the weight. Won't be long hun til your back on the loser bench and saying farewell to that weight once and for all x x x xx

Take a band...I put mine up & was given hat thing that matched shoe things x

Nail extensions off (boo)
Nail varnish off hands & feet
Piercings out (tho they let me leave tragus in as I cudnt get it out!)
