first appointment

Just had my first appointment - it was a group one with about 20 other people.
I'm gutted because they have sent us away to lose "some" weight and we wont be seen again for about 3 months - then we will be given a 3 month weight loss aim. Only then if we comply will we be put on the waiting list (which currently stands at 5 months) so 11 months overall ! - i've already been waiting 13 months to get to this point !!
I just hope i can lose what they need me to, as i have already lost my "easiest" first 10%
Patience is not one of my strong points at the moment, so am feeling a bit fed up about it. But i guess its better than nothing.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about that, Its a long long waiting game, but you can do it!! You have come this far so don't give up!!

hey jayne sorry to here that you have still got a long way to go befor ebeing accepted for surgery. Look on it positively that any weight you lose this side of the op will benefit you during the op. Keep your chin up we're here to support you so you won't have to go through it alone, if your struggling just come and have a rant or a moan and we'll try and help you stay on the right track.

Hi hun, I feel for you. I had what I thought was a long wait of 18 months and I thought I would go crazy. It was soo worth it in the end tho, over that time I was able to get my head around the changes I would need to make in order to be successful. And like Terri said, you have a place to come with people that have gone through it themselves to talk to so take advantage. People on here are real stars and offer excellent advice. If it helps, pretend the whole process is a training time before the big challenge. Like astronauts who spend years getting ready for the big adventure in space. You will get through it and your goal is in sight.
