Graphics Tablet.

Does anyone know anything about Graphics Tablets. Abbie has £40 to spend on one and we've looked on Amazon and there are plenty for that price but we know nothing about them and which ones are good to have. Any help would be much appreciated please.

the best thing to do is to go somewhere like cp world who may sell them and ask if they can show you what they do.. i dont know anyone who has one xx

When she finds one she thinks may be ok on Amazon, Google it and find reviews on it. x

I would a avoid places like Pissie World like the plague. They are just salespeople. Visit a local pc shop who have a lot of pc knowledge who won't try to sell you something you don't need. Failing that, have a look on Amazon and read some reviews of tablets in the price range you want. Hope that helps

Thanks everyone. I have to admit that I'd never buy anything more than a mouse from PC World after my HP printer paper feed stopped working after one week and when I took it in to see them they gave me a help line number for HP and told me I had to ring them and they would talk me through mending it over the phone. Yeah right!

I will have a look at reviews for her. She loves art and does loads of painting and drawing but also enjoys using the computer. At the moment she's drawing using her mouse but wants to spend her Christmas money on one.

Generally most of them are good, however they do take a lot of getting use to, I used them at college when i trained on photoshop, for me i would spend the money on a quality mouse.

Is your daughter going to be using it for photo editing or drawing/animation? If it is for drawing then you want to be looking at bigger is better. Not so important for photo editing, but she would probably want at least. A5 size. We have a Trust one that we got from QVC years ago, that has been very reliable. There are lots of good free art software packages available so don't worry too much about software you get with the tablet, hardware is the most important.
