How many days post surgery is it likely before I will poo and will it hurt? Done on Tues, now Fri night and not been and feel weird. Apologies for gross content of this Q!!

I was a bit constipated after surgery. I went a few days after. It didn't hurt, but it would depend on how bunged up you are!
I had some syrup of figs and prune juice!

Poor you. I don't know the answer but will watch for what others say as I've wondered this myself.
Hope you go soon !

So glad someone asked this!
Two days post-bypass and I feel gassy, but can't do anything!
Have to love this forum for it's open and honest attitude.
xXx

LOL I am queen of the daft questions. Dying to go just so I know I still can, thinking of dulcolax but not sure if it would cause me problems?

There are loads of posts regarding 'poo' lol.
Too much poo,
too little poo,
right kind, wrong kind of poo lol.
do a search for it, or constipation or laxatives.
They will all help you.
There are certain types of laxative that might make you feel poorley and that is the reason I would like you to read all the relevent poo's .... ooppps sorry posts lol.

I do like a goood pooo post. i didn't go for over a week after my opp, now i go once a week, please check before you take anything because there are lots of things you can't take post opp.xx

I think I'll just wait for nature to take it's course. Had half a Weetabix this morning, and will have the same again tomorrow, so hopefully it will happen soon!

Lynne and Dolly you are fab, why did I not even look for a search button. I have recently gone from blonde to brunette but my brain hasnt caught up yet :D

Dulcolax contains Bisacodyl. It is notorious for doing nothing for 8 - 10 hours and then whoosh. DO NOT take it at night as you may not wake up in time!!! Better used as a suppository but can continue to work after the first poo and catch you out later. Maybe ask your GP to prescribe Movicol, I found it much gentler, but VERY effective during my first milk diet. HTH

It is also the hidden sugar and not so hidden sugar that you should be aware of especially if you have had a bypass of any type. It could cause major dumping.
