Happy Little Camper :)

Wow i can't believe how great i feel! Was up chatting to the other girls here we swapped numbers and are going to see about meeting up as none of us know anyone else personally with the band.
Im so thrilled it's done and Im going to really work it, I've has 24 long years of taking the absolute piss. I must write out my to do list. One thing id LOVE to get into would be running. C25k and stuff!
Will come back and do that later maybe when Im home :)

Nurses are fab here tho it's not a bit like a hospital, i barely fit on the operating theatre either jeez i won't miss this big fat bod!

Looking forward- I've been meaning to reply to your post on my other thread, have referenced you in that thread for warning me! There's another lady on my ward with them in Dublin and is very unhappy and thinks they're getting ready to leave the Kildare street office. That'll infuriate me cos I've no transport etc.
The other girl is with them in cork and can't speak higher of them so we've all put it down to this particular woman but we'll just see what happens.
X

I'm so glad it went well for you! I didn't realise they would fill it for you right away. My consultant doesn't put anything in the band until the 6 week mark apparently!

Are you in any pain? I set off for my band at 1pm today - nervous!

Good luck Karen. It ll be fine you ll see. I also had 4 ml in a small band I.e 10ml band. I am glad it all went well and that you are home recovering. Enjoy the week off but don't do too much too soon. You do get tired very soon for the first few days. Welcome to the banders family xxx

Thanks miserable :) I did ask specifically if I'll be having any initial restriction and he said no. I suppose (hope) I'll lose weight whilst recovering and then it'll soon be time for my first fill.

Taxi now booked for 12.30 because of snow.

Oh Karen Im so exited for you, imagine that was me just yesterday and now here i am home and banded and feeling great!
Will look forward to comparing notes with you.
Im not in much pain, have just sipped a small glass of innocent juice and have shoulder pain but nothing unbearable.

Miserable- how did you find it having the 4mm in? Im supposed to have technically my first fill in six weeks, would that not make me too tight?

Well Im home now and happy as Larry!
Sipped on an actimel and felt so full i couldn't finish it, i love it!
I have 4mm in a small band, that's quite a lot isn't it?!
Can't believe I've a week off work, bliss!x
Hi nice to hear that you are home and doing well. Wow being in and out as fast as that. take care

It varies so much for different people. I had restriction for the first 4 weeks then it deseapered. Now I have 6 ml and not had restriction since recovering from the op. Do go for your fill so it keeps you on track and keep your level of restriction. It's key to success. I think my next fill ll keep my weight loss again. Good luck and keep asking questions xxx

Good luck ladies, so good to see more banders coming through!!!! Xx

So i got out for a walk, only a stroll really only 15-20 mins. Was handy having the buggy to lean on :)

Im wondering have i been having too much,
B- Almost a full actimel then later a half glass of innocent fruit juice.

L- 3/4 cup of watery tomato cuppa soup and actimel.

D- 3/4 cup of watery chicken cuppa soup.

Feels like a lot to be honest, any opinions woulda appreciated!

I've an annoying chesty cough from giving up the smokes! Shows how bad they are!!

Delighted to hear you're home and well.Don't overdo it for the first few days though you need to be careful.

I really hope you have a good experience with THG as you know I'm hoping I can get aftercare elsewhere.

I don't think THG are going to be much help to be honest Looking Forward so i would love to hear if you find a good place for aftercare. Another woman on my ward had problems with the same lady i had so we've swapped numbers incase anything else goes wrong we'll have each other for support etc. Two people she knows have also gotten the band with THG Dublin and are very unhappy but have made their bands work for them.
Im going to take as much information and support from here and the notes i have, hope for the best with the dietition tho i don't hold much hope for that and hope that my fills happen when they're suppose to and not up north!

Have people had alot of problems with THG, iv had my band with them and been dealing mainly with the Manchester clinic, so far I can't flaw them, like you I had 4mls but in in theatre, and I'm due my first band fill on the 7/3/12,

Welcome to all our newbie banders. Wishing you lots of luck in your journey.

Sorry some of you seem to be experiencing problems with THG. I have been under THG Birmingham and to be honest I have nothing but praise for them from initial consultation to the aftercare. They have been fantastic over the past 7-8 months.

Whatever happens though, try not to let a negative experience send you off track ... you personally and a positive attitude are your greatest asset post-op ... because even with all the best aftercare in the world, the band cannot work without you on its side xxx

Look forward to making room on the losers comfy sofa for you :)

I think it's only THG Dublin that are a bit iffy to be honest. Another girl on my ward was with them in cork and absolutely loves them.
Don't forget in the UK that's where lots of the celebs go, from what I've seen on vids etc it seems totally different over there.

Ah i feel really really good today. I woke earlier with what i think was a hungry tummy funny enough! Im sleeping on both my sides now quite comfortably :)
I spent hours last night watching YouTube video diaries about people who have bands, some of tho losses were quite disappointing and that's scared me now. In fairness Im allowing myself two years to reach goal but still id love to see some good losses to keep me motivated.

Does anyone know where i can buy a good treadmill that takes over 15stone but doesn't cost the earth? In Ireland!x
