Hi
Good luck, I too am from Manchester but have had to pretty much jump hoops to get a band and am also having Mr Ammori but no idea when. I am 33 and wish I would have even thought about wls 13 years ago as it woudl have saved years of weight loss and gain and heartache. Good luck hope it is everything you want it to be x
I have had the 6 months weight management then went to salford royal for discussion with dietician etc.. height weight then meeting mr ammori, just had sleep apnea today.
well 6 months of weight management is quite along time when you are fighting being fat ! 4 years of xenical and reductil.
Where are you upto with your journey ?
x
Glad you are getting your band. Very impressed with how quickly it is happening for you, it's a real post-code lottery with some people fighting for WLS for years. Good luck to you x
went to doctor in april. he referred me. went to see bariatric nurse...decided i wanted to try xenical again. tried xenical for 3 months didnt work so went back to see bariatric nurse about 2 weeks ago. nurse told me that i could basically have the op within four weeks, but im going away end of october so didnt want it till i get back. she wrote down 1st week in nov as provisional date! next tues got appt with dr ammori.......
im also amazed how quick it all happens. maybe because even on nhs is through spire which is private and generally private hospitals are much quicker and efficient?!
what is weight management???
ive been seeing the dietician at my doctors surgery umpteen times over last few yrs thats why i got to skip some of that stuff i think!
i just want to get the op over..i cried so much today at being fat!! mainly because my dear husband doesnt understand how it feels, and bein unable to dress and socialise how u want etc is really down heartening, so i went slightly mental at him.
FATBUTNOT4EVA where in manchester do u live? how come some ppl get refered to spire and some to salford royal...i go to a bury doctors surgery not salford maybe !?
Well done on joining the site. And great news on your op. Are you deffo having a band? Where in Manc are you? Im in Manc Central and I had my bypass with Ammori when I was 23. x
