Having my clips out tomorrow (including a picture of a wound)

Eeek I having my check up and clips out tomorrow at 10 days post op at Charing Cross.

Feeling a bit scared as I am such a wimp with pain and discomfort lol

Thought I would show a picture of one of my wounds so that some preoppers could see. None of mine are that big this one is much less than an inch.

Funny isnt it. I think its glued and stapled, not really sure, will ask!

i had clips/staples like yours zns, they dont hurt coming out, in fact its a relief, and ooooh so lovely after, only thing was having to have a dressing pad on them again for 24 hours, cos the holes were an open wound. but once they came off, wow, lovely. dont worry, its not a painful experience having them removed. hugs xx

Phew glad you say that thank you. Im happy to have them covered, ive been a wimp and kept them covered anyway because im scared of catching them on clothes, I know thats not ideal but Im such a worrier! They are rather itchy now so will be nice to have them out.

aw so glad you feel a bit better about it now hun, actually having them coverd for a day actually is good, cos all you want to do is itch, so at least over a dressing, your not gonna do any harm. youll be fine, honest. ahhh relief!!!

Hehe I cant wait for them to be out, most of the pinching im getting is from them when I lay funny. x

yeah know what you mean, its weird how they leave them in for so long, normally its only about 7 days, but mine were actually in for 14 days, boy i couldnt wait for that nurse to come and take them out lol

It will be 10 days tomorrow for me. Will get a weigh in as well while I am there I think!
My GP asked why they couldnt just take them out there, of course that would have been a lot easier but hospital say no has to be there. I guess they want to check up on me too. x

my 5 wounds was just left to heal on there own and covered with dressings,and one dissolvable stitch in one that was bleeding slightly.
Why do some people have staples?

Just depends on the surgeons preference I think! x

I just had little steri strips and mine are now just tiny pink lines - you can hardly tell I have had an op!! If I knew how the heck to put pictures on here I would . . !!

i had staples and it goes through me when i think about it, staples and skin just dont go do they! I had mine out and they didnt hurt at all hun (and i am a right wimp!) just one staple nipped but that was it,
