Hi, I'm Erin and I had my lapband done on the 2nd Feb... Feeling pretty good so far although I feel like the surgery itself was more painful than people had told me it was!
The day of my surgery I was 98kg and so far I have lost 3kg... I'm really happy with it all but I havnt been able to find many help forums so I'm hoping this site is good!

How is your band goin???? I'm still trying to work out the full feeling

Well Im on liquids so i can't say I've ever felt full but i rarely ever feel hungry. If i do then a cuppa soup or slim fast etc etc sorts it out :)
Im also calorie counting and try to stick to 800 but have gone as high as 1200! Probably not necessary tho and wasn't drinking enough water or have an extra actimel etc out of boredom. Hard to change the habits of a lifetime but I'll get there!
What about you??x

Hi Erin

I was banded on 5 Feb and have found this site so useful. Someone here will have been through the same experience, felt the same feelings and best of all, they are here to tell you about it!

The forum is great and the people are cry helpful.

Daisyhappy - I was only on liquids for 7 days then soft foods, by the 7th day I was craving something to chew! I did love the liquid phase because I lost 3kg! Now it's a bit harder as I still have a few bad food habits..... I've snuck in some pizza and kfc!! Naughty naughty!!!! I have started walking though and am feeling a bit fitter than what I was before losing any weight and it's great!!! :)

Yeah i know what you mean, i thought id defo feel the band you know, put it feels like nothing so Im kind of dreading soft and normal food now! Hunger isn't the issue it really is bad habits, i could have lived off slim fast and Oxo but I've enjoyed lovely soups and even had a few glasses of wine on Saturday-very bad i know and i don't advocate it! Im looking to get a second hand treadmill as i can see the band won't do all the work, i knew this already but want to start working with the band pronto! Have you any ideas for soft foods? Im on them from Saturday Eek!x all in all i am loving my band and have no regrets!x

I have a treadmill but it's still hard to get motivated!! I put on a kilo this week which I'm not happy about but it's because I have been over eating :S
My dietician said anything u can chew well into mush is ok for soft food - I've had mashed potato, tuna, mashed veges, yoghurts, and chicken wraps! Ive snuck things in like pizza and fish and chips too :S so from now on I'm kicking myself in the butt and kicking old habits out the door!! It's hard when I have a boyfriend who eats like a pig and eats until there is nothing left.... But maybe I can teach him a thing or two now :)

Welcome Erin - make the most of your Band - its great! Any guidance needed, and there are lots of us here who will want to share our experiences with you and help you along the way :)

All our dieticians / providers say differing things about what to consume post-op, but a chicken wrap does sound a little harsh on your recovering stomach so early on in your banded life ? Take care x

Hi Erin

It's fine so far - no problems as yet! I'm on liquids for 2 weeks so haven't had any 'proper' food yet.

Has your band got any fill in it yet? I won't get mine filled until mid-march so I'm relying on willpower until then!
