OMG where do i start im 3 days away from surgery now, been following the milk diet to the letter, but i had only lost 4kg, thats not the worst i have now put 1.5 back think it might be TOM and the fact that my thyroid is underactive again. Im so upset why is this happening and will my op still go ahead:sigh::sigh:
I cannot understand why im gaining when im not eating oh god nnnooooooooooooo:((((((

Sharon, Don't panic!!

The diet is not aimed at you losing weight, it's aimed at shrinking your liver. Losing weight is just a secondary affect of the diet!

As long as you've been following it then don't worry!

Thanks Mixman for you support ive been so worried it just seems like any exscuse they can find not to do it:( So even tho ive not lost much weight my liver should still be shrinking then is that right?

Sharon

yeah Sharon thats right. Don't worry as long as you've been following it to some extent your liver will have definitely shrunk. Most surgeons are so experienced that having the liver shrunk is just a bonus. Don't worry your op will go ahead and you will soon be a loser.

Your be fine sharon, best of luck for thursday!

I am sure it will just be water retention and your liver will have shrunk Sharon. Try not to worry. Good luck with the op. Looking forward to reading all about it.

Good luck for the op.
Don't worry about the weight loss for now - some people don't even do the milk diet. ( I think it just makes the op easier)
Where are you having it done? Have you got funding or are you going private?

Be honest with your surgeon. As long as you are following your milk diet, you can be honest and explain. I am not a surgeon so I dont want to say yes everything will be fine, but ring your team for advice. Be honest and explain everything.

Best of luck and fingers crossed everything goes well x

You should be fine. The milk diet also cleans your digestive tract. As long as, as you say, you have followed it there should be no problem. I know someone that did not follow it and their liver was too big for the surgeon to gain access so the op was cancelled. It shows they know when you have tried even when the scales say different.

Good luck with your surgery BTW!

i had mine done in luton and dunstable and i lost 1 stone 4 in 2 weeks but i cheated like hell! and they never knew and my op went ahead fine... dr jain even said my liver was tiny! dont worry xx

Heya chocchucky

As everyone else has said, you will be fine as long as you have followed the liver shrinking diet. Your surgeon or wl team arent going to know you have gained any weight in the last few days unless of course they have weighed you this week. They will look at your weight when they last weighed you and look to see if there has been any weghtloss since then which as you have lost about 9lbs and regained about 3 and a half pounds as its totm will still register a loss.

Good luck you will be fine :)

Thanks everyone for you kind words of support looking forward to seeing you all on the loosers bench:) Not sure if i can get on tommorrow cause i have to go into hospital the day before my op so will see you all when i get back:)

Sharon xx
