Hi I'm new to this just a few questions I'm just three week into having gastric band and I'm getting like stitch on the port sight is this normal

I never had any pain, but other banders have. One should pop by soon that can maybe explain what their pain felt like. Have you picked up phone to your provider to ask their advice? X

Hiya
I'm 1 week out from having band and I had the worst stitch pain ever under /around the port - surgeon said this is totally normal and will die down over time.
The reason it happens is because the port is stitched to the muscle and it takes time for the muscle to adapt to the new device being there and the stitches holding it in place. This is what the "stitch" pain is

How are you feeling? is the pain easing off? I was warned about this by my surgeon

This type of pain is quite common, the port area can get quite tender and sore, and it is hard to know whether it is issues with the port or the area around it. It can also happen with certain types of exercise, a build up of wind, or like the dietician is suggesting, eating and drinking too fast.

They are always your first port of call so any concerns, call them :)
