Today has just gone from a feel good day to worst day . Waited neary two years for my op . Got my date for 17 august. But but but today had message from my consultant that I have been taken off list , all because he refered me to another hospital as I had been waiting so long. Just like I have been ran over by a truck+ then kicked while down. Totaly fed up now. Looks like I have to start all over again. Any ideas wot I can do if anything. Sorry 4 moan but had built myself up 4 op.

Don't accept this mate. Phone PALS. Fight. You had a date it just aint fair. It's bloody typical of WM though-terrible admin and keep you waiting for ever. My heart goes out to you!!!
Was it your gp who changed your referal?
The only consolation I can offer youu is that if you've been referrred to Heartlands their waiting list is down to 13 weeks and they do key hole bypass. someone else will tell you how long the wait is for the Telford hospital which might be where your guy has sent you.

No it was not my gp it was my consultant from russels hall, he said it was a shorter time to wait at Telford , so u go with wot the experts say don't u??? Or do u, wot a mistake to make. Will keep u all informed of my progress , thanks 4 ur suport. Bigun.

No dont accept it you deserve answers. I was messed around by the system so often that the journey took me 3 years! You have to battle through each stage and do not leave it up to the experts as usually behind them are a lot of incompetant admin staff! Good Luck and dont give up xx

I take it the consultant at Russells Hall is Dr Labib?
Did you explain that you have got a date for surgery?
It may even be the PCT that has taken it out of his hands Dudley no longer refer to Walsall Manor due to the waiting times and bad admin

Yes it is llab. I told him I had my date but he had altready refered me to Telford . They contacted Walsall but woz already took of list, totaly fed up + don't know wot 2 do now, sorry 2 be a grump but totaly fed up .

Telford is quick and you should have keyhole instead of open.(2 good things! Not that that makes it any better)


Phone Dr Labib's secretary on Monday and ask how long you will be waiting. Then phone PALS and tell them what has happened and put in a complaint.

Thanks a lot, got 2 wait for a call from Walsall tomorrow the weightloss team have emailed Dudley pct to find out wots goin on . Just have to wait now again. Just more worry+ stress again . Keep Reading posts on here to see how everyones doin, keepin me hopefull. Need to get me back to old me again now. Fingers+ everything else crossed , hope I haven't got to start from scratch again . Sorry I am not this down usually.

Heard from Walsall today, not on there list at all now, thanks a bunch russells hall, spoke to Telford + they said they r trying to get my 1st clinic apointment for the begining of august so have to wait with fingers crossed . Pls pls princess royal help bigun soon

Sorry you've had this disappointment Bigun. You won't be long now though and keyhole is a good thing I think. Although I am delighted with my op, think the care at WM was excellent ( so different to the admin lol!) and am immensely grateful I am a wee bit shocked at the length of my scar which goes from between my boobs right down below my belly button from what I can see! So every cloud as the saying goes.

Hi Mecca, I'm feeling fantastic thanks. I asked for key hole on the day ( Dr Yusuf told me to be cheekily and give it a go) and as he was doing a band after me I said perhaps he could do me keyhole as he was getting all the kit out. He just said it says open here. Anyway, I'm sure the scar will fade and it's a just a tiny price to pay for such a fantastic opportunity.
