how long do u have to be on cpap

Hiya I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, how long do u have to be on cpap before they put u on op waiting list, am at salford royal, just my appointment is not for another mont :cry:

I've been on cpap since I was 18, I'm 31 now. I didn't realise there was a specific amount of time you had to be on it before you were put on the waiting list though, you just have to have used it for 6 months prior to the op (or so i was told).

My anaesthetist wanted 3 months of CPAP before she would consider you for surgery. That was the L&D, it may be specific to that hospital or even to that anaesthetist.

minimum of six weeks for me.Anaesthetist counted on calendar 6 weeks in front of me and my op date is 2 days after those 6 weeks.
