How long does it take for a bypass op?

Hi, All,
Just wondering how long the operation takes for a bypass. I realise it could differ from person to person if there are complications, but I'm just thinking of a straight forward op.

Well from what I have read they say 11/2 - 2 hrs, hope this helps

I was in the aneasthetists room @ 08:15 and back in my room by 09:55. So I reckon mine only took an hour, because I was in HDU for half an hour

But your right, think it varies from person to person.

i went to theater at 9am was in recovery for 11am and back on the ward fo 1pm it all depends on the skill of the surgeon and his team once they get in there. There were 4 of us that had our surgery that day and the surgeon came to see me at 7 pm so on average with time to re scrub between patients and have a lunch 2hrs

I went downstairs just after 11am and was back in my room for 2.30pm but it was a good half an hour before they started my op and i was in recovery for a while so i reckon about an hour for mine x

Went in at 2pm rmember seeing the clock at 4.05 and they had already rung partner n my mum so Id say mine took just about 2 hours. I had open bypass

I should have asked people to say whether they had open or keyhole. doh!

Mine took 3 1/2 hours!!! But not too bothered as i only had three insisions (sp?) to show for it and two tiny drain holes!!
