Hi everyone,

I will be in 2 weeks time 3 months out of my surgery and at the moment I am loosing on average 2lbs per week.
I lost first 2 stones very quickly and now it just slowed down so much! (My diet hasn't change since I went on solids)

Do you think I should add some excersise? (Well, I probably know an answer myself, just being a lazy butt I can't force myself... But I probably should. I have been going swimming, but for me it is more of a relaxation then an excersise).

I have at least 3 more stone to lose!
Any advice would be apriciated!

PS:

And in the last 10 days I have lost less then 2lbs...

Just makes me go and do this ------>:17729:

im down to about 1lb a week at the moment,im p****d off at the moment. ive got about another 3 stones to loose. dont know where im going wrong.

How about ringing the dietician at the hospital where you had surgery? He might be able to point you in the right direction, maybe you are having something that is slowing you down and you are not aware of it? Its worth a try, our dietician is really approachable and Im sure he would help if he could. Good Luck XX

i'm only losing a lb a week and i've got 4.5st to lose for the hospitals target and 6.5st for my target,

Girls, girls, girls, write a food diary, it has really helped me. We could check each others and see if there is anything we can pick up on. I know it keeps me on the right track cause the thought of telling you that I have eaten a whole bounty frightened me to death.:eek:

I lose between 1 - 3lbs a week so I think that would average 2lbs a week and I am quite pleased with that as long as it is going down. I didnt lose last week and got in a bit of a tiswas so started the diary and lost 2lbs this week.

I am eating more so I think that is why my weight loss is slowing down. I do want to lose another 2.1/2 stone and I will be very happy.

I think it is normal. Have a look at my weekly loses in my signature, you can see I lose between 1 and 3 lb usually, but also have a fair number of zero losses!

I am determined not to go back to counting anything and being 'on a diet' forever! I will just accept that it will come off eventually.

Thanks girls for your replies :hug99:

I started a food diary and signed up with myfitnesspal, so hopefully it will help.

Also, tadadadadada!!! me!, today I went to the GYM!
I didn't do much, just some cardio for 30 minutes, but still, I am chuffed to bits!

On the good note- I am in the size 16!!! jeans!!!! YAY! Want to be comfortable 14 till x-mas :D

As an aside, someone once told me it's harder for us as humans to lose weight in the winter because our bodies naturally want to store fat in anticipation of the colder weather and scarcity of resources.

I wonder if this seemingly common theme happening right now could be attributed to a drastic(ish) cool down in the weather lately? Maybe in a few weeks when bodies have had time to adjust the weight will start to slide again.

Just a (fairly leftfield) thought!

Went to the sauna today, maybe my body will think it's african summer and I will loose all the weight by tomorrow :D:D:D

Mixman - have you noticed that with time you started eating more?

i lost a whole 3 OUNCES last month, and have lost 2lb so far this month. It was always going to be difficult for me due to my disabilities, but never expected the brakes to go on this soon :( one thing i will add, for women in particular, is when our bodies go into starvation mode, rather than lose fat, we STORE our fat, and start to lose muscle if we lose anything at all. unfortunately this is a medical and scientific fact.
Sometimes eating MORE will actually kick start the process, as long as its dietician prescribed. Just wish I could eat :(

I am eating more but then the amount of exercise I am doing, my body is telling me I have to.

Because I looked after my smaller stomach from the start, I still have restriction. I can only just manage 2 slices of cheese on toast sometimes! This is 16 months after the operation.

Mixxy, you come out with some excellent pearls of wisdom.... '' because I looked after my smaller stomach from the start ''.... now that is a classic statement for us all to take heed and listen!

As always, inspiring others and doing so well with your fitness and weight....

A great quote for my day from you Mixxy and thank you again! xxx

What do you mean by looked after your smaller stomach?

What do you mean by looked after your smaller stomach?

Followed the guidelines to the letter.

The liquid/sloppy/crispy stages and still don't eat/drink within 30 minutes of each other.

This preserves the size of your stomach/pouch and protects your band if you've had one fitted.

The rules are there for more reasons than what I thought and I'm glad I've stuck to them :)
