I always suspected I wasn't normal .........

Bypass on 23rd June
Okay so I always knew there was something not normal about me so it shouldn't have come as any surprise that I'm loving the milk diet whereas most people seem to hate it ! The dietician told me I would be constipated and should take a laxative but I sure don't need one !!

Now the question is ....... will I be the only person who actually gains weight once they have the bypass ???? :8855:

lol no if you are loving the milk diet your going to rock this by pass..
I will compare notes with you next week..
i am off to invest in a batch of sugar free crusha (if i ever find it !)
now the bigger question..if your not normal...what does that make me !!!!!!!!!

I quite liked the milk diet too!
But I've never been normal! LOL!
and i've lost 4 stones 12 pounds so far since my bypass, so no, it will work for you!

I feel better knowing that I'm in the company of other un-normals (I made that word up!)!!!!

Yay! The un-normal club!

Ive always been un-normal......I like to think of it as a twilight world existing alongside the normal population..its quite a nice place ;) ask Maz :D XX

:silly:I guess I'm normal amongst un-normals lol

We're normal its every 1 else that isn't haha :)

I also loved the milk diet i think cause i was in control if you know what i mean. I found i had bag fulls of energy xxx

What does the milk diet consist of? The low fat low carb diet will be really hard although I have worked out what I can have I know I am going to find it hard to not eat too much otherwise I would not be going down the WLS route in the first place. I feel that it would be easier to do a milk or slimfast diet than the low carb/fat one.
The hospital says we can do the optifast diet if we wish but have you seen the price of it (gulp!)?

The milk diet for me, they are all slightly different, was 4 pints of milk per day, 1 low fat yogurt and 1 oxo cube :D Its was tough but I chose it over the low carb one because I felt if I could eat no food atall I wouldnt crave it as much! It worked though :D XX

My thoughts exactly Dotty!
Also would there be any harm in changing the milk into home meade yoghurt do you think?

You need to stick to what your dietician says as it's all works out to give you the right calories etc.
I'm having 4pts semi skim milk, 2 oxos and 1pt no sugar jelly.

The different teams have different idea's don't they?

You have to do 4 weeks then 2 weeks pre op. of the milk diet. I was told on Friday, for me in Cornwall it is between one and two weeks of the liver reduction diet but only before the op. And I can have unlimited SF Jelly and bovril / marmite / stock / Bouillon woo hoo I shall go mad and have three !!!

I too am looking forward to the milk diet.

I will call the dietician some time this week and see what she says. I know I would find the milk diet so much easier
