AS SOME OF YOU WILL KNOW I AM JUST ABOUT COMING TO TERMS WITH MY APPOINTMENT WITH MR. SMALL BEING CHANGED FROM 20TH OCT TO 10TH NOV ONLY TO GET UP TODAY TO ANOTHER LETTER!!! MY APPOINTMENT HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED TO F***ING FEBRUARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::cry::mad::cry::confused::mad::confused::cry:
DON'T KNOW WHY I BOTHER..... RANT OVER! XXX
 
OMG, that is really awful for you, I would be furious, heart-broken & sobbing all at once....poor you. But, you can't give up...I'm not familiar with your provider so apologies in advance, but is there any way you could ring them & ask for a reasonable explanation. Explain how devastated you are and ask if they could possibly see you sooner via a cancellation or something? To be put back for a month is bad enough, but another 3 months on top is terrible. I'm so sorry you are going through this xxxx

Don't give up... ring them on Monday and be sure to ask for a cancellation at short notice and explanation as to why your appointment has been changed.. it doesn't seem fair and it is upsetting... I feel for you... we may be helpless to change this for you, but sending a hug and love your way to comfort you... take care and don't let anyone or anything ever stand in your way of helping yourself to a new life...

my appointment is to in oct i hope they dont do this to me, mines the 27th, i wonder whats going on?!?....

ill be getting a nasty shock next week then xxxx if only i was rich and could go private!
 
Thats disgusting! From Oct to Feb, Im gobsmacked! I agree you should phone up first thing monday and ask for an explanation, surely there is an appointment somewhere between bl**dy oct and feb! So sorry hun, but dont give up, you will get there (HUGS) X

This is one of the reasons I chose to go private.... I is just so devastating to wait and wait and wait!
 
Unfortunately this doesn't surprise me!! I really really feel for you as I've been in this situation too. The appointments system at SRH is ridiculous. Hope you get something sorted for sooner.

Maybe you should threaten to ask for legal advice - it worked for that woman in the news this week.

So sorry hun, I hope they back track and change it again for sooner.
 
I got my funding in April and still havnt seen the surgeon,methinks they are dragging their feet now till october when all the cuts will be announced,they have already said WLS will be drasticly cut to save money.I have been at the weight management clinic since July 2008.Last appointment was August and she said my next appointment would be december and I should be done by then!Got the appointment through today;18th march 2011!!I have waited for a simple letter from sleep study to be sent to the spire since may to say my apneoa is mild.I have phoned constantly to chase it and my notes are being shunted back and forth from records to the sleep lab for the past month the secretary personally puts them in the docs room on his desk but they keep being sent away without him seeing them.I have begged the secretary to please help as I am scared I will miss the boat for the funding or they stop doing the wls.What a waste of 2 years plus going through all the appointments assessments etc that would be.Dont forget funding doesnt mean surgery,the stress is terrible.Maz
 
Hi Maz, just answering you on this thread... that is a very long time and I really think you should challenge them... firstly by phone, then in writing... Lisa had issues with the PCT, it would be terrible to pull the funding after you have waited so long and clearly you wish to proceed with the original plan...

Thinking of you and please don't give up until you have tried everything.... and then still carry on... it's not fair the way people are being thoroughly messed around and distressed.

I will be ringing them Monday but probably to no avail. I rang earlier this week to see why the first had been changed. My nurse is on annual leave and is taking no calls so i rang Mr. Small's secretary and was told that it had changed due to the fact that he had been put on call that week!!
Weak reason but let it go, but this has destroyed me!
Read the letter, rang my Mum, cried, huffed and made a fry up!!:break_diet:
Sorry to seem over dramatic but i feel like life always does this to moi.:raincloud:

Please Laura, stick with it!! I know its disheartening, I been then several times with SRH but unfortunately they are the ones with the power. Hopefully, you'll get a result on Monday when you ring or at least some answers!!

I've spat my dummy out loadsa times, stamped my feet & ranted on here! Then all the lovely people on here have given me 'virtual' hugs, support, reassurances etc. Which helps me get up & continue on my journey!! Hope same happens for you.. ;)
 
Rang up this morning and was told that both those clinics had been cancelled just because!!!!
They do not do cancellations and the only option i was given is to ring up daily and see if there has been anyone dropping out... like thats gonna happen!!! :sigh::sigh: x
 
i am so sorry for you , but dont give up and dont stop ringing them thats how i got my appointment brought forward

Am going to buy the Biggest Loser game for the wii next week and me and him indoors are going to set up a competition on it. I start back at uni too nxt week so i won't be sat here often enough to feel sorry for myself!
Am going to kick start the diet again and throw in the exercise noo matter how much it hurts. I will stay on target regardless and that way if there is by some miracle a cancellation i can take it!! ;) xx Thank you all for the immense support, no of which i have got from home xxx
 
Yaaaay thats better, you sound so much more positive, I think when we get knocked back like you have just had it takes us a few days to come to terms with it! In the end theres nothing we can do but carry on. you are doing the best thing hun..........good luck x :D
