Marie1986

Im ready to start my life
:(

So yeah..

Friday i started puréed food, that was a ''whoohoo'' in itself..

Its been about a week now and nothings shifted..

Am i being too presumptuous about continuing to lose the weight or am i doing something wrong?

I know i dont drink alot.. So i think i need to up my fluid intake..

Am i consuming enough during puree do exercise?

Hi Marie. I may have missed a previous post but I'm just wondering why you're having puree at this stage post op? It is possible you're just not taking in enough calories and that your body may be experiencing 'hibernation syndrome'. I.e. Holding on to whatever intake it can out of fear that it may not get any more.

Hi Marie xxx A week is not too long really in the grand scheme of things.
If you think about it, your body sometimes just needs a breather to adjust to shedding all the fat stores it's used to carrying , sometimes for many years previously.

Try not to get discouraged, just continue to follow a healthy intake and exercise regularly but don't knock yourself out!
If you just stay on track you could find next week you begin to lose again.
The main thing is not to panic or think it's not working and go binge (well not that you can really binge as such anyway) but you know!!

Be patient and don't worry!! It is going to go x

Hey Lisa,

I had a band fill recently and as my advisor.. advises.. we must follow a strict after-fill regime..

Which includes:

2 weeks of Clear Liquids..

2 weeks of Puree

2 weeks of soft food progressing onto Solid..

Thankyou for taking the time in answering my thread! :)

Oh I see. Thanks for that Marie. In that case I agree with Neen....just give it time. I had a bypass myself but at 1 year on my loss is quite slow and I often go 2 or 3 weeks without a loss. It gets me down a bit sometimes so I try to only note my weight loss on a monthly basis & keep reminding myself just how far I've come.

Keep up the great work lovely x

Hey Neen!

I know its not and i should be so grateful of what ive lost.. its just i thought it was round two all over again..

don't get me wrong im happy as i am now! ive never looked and felt so healthy.. but in my head.. it was all set out to work out like last time.. and it hasn't..

This is where i approach 6 months post op and the band lay's in my hands massively i suspect.

Yeah.. right head boost given.. Sometimes i think when doing this partitive after fill lark, that you get into a mundane routine and i feel like i just want to get on with life and work with the band like i did for the last 2 weeks before my fill..

Im quite straight forward, so this softly softly approach with dealing with my body and lifestyle is much more hard work than the band itself! haha..

I obviously didn't learn patience when i became a mum! haha..

Thankyou Neen.. as always.. your fabulous!

You're on the home stretch Marie...look at that ticker woman!!!

hahahaha...

Okay Okay!

:p

Do you know what i put it down to?

How quick its all happened.. my head hasn't caught up with my body..

I just dont realise how much weight i've lost..

I sort of learnt my lesson last year in particular.
Basically stayed the same for the whole year in the end...apart from losing and regaining the same stone or so. The end result was me at the same weight this year in march as I was last year!!
D'oh what a wally!!!

It was a lot of comfort eating, PMT induced nonsense and not being consistant.
Letting things throw me off course and taking ages to have a word with myself !

Logging with you all what we're doing is really helping though because I know if I don't behave myself and put my money where my mouth is, I have to come clean to you lot every Saturday!!!

The band is so much head work.. I mean i don't give a cahoot what anyone says.. when i sit people down and actually tell them what the band entails.. they all end up singing from MY hymn sheet!

Its so much head work, it consumes your brain!

But yes Lady Jane!! We all......... know.. if you've been naughty or nice!

So you better watch out, you better not cry, better not pout.. <------------------- OMG, way to early in the year!

hahahaha..

Hi Marie, I've had 2 fills since my op, and for both I put weight on whilst on purees!! I have wondered if my body goes into starvation mode when it goes on to sloppies. I hope this stage passes soon for you and you can get back to losing. BTW 74lbs, that's amazing, go girl!! :) xx

Marie when I went for my fill on 18 March and for the first one, I was told 2 weeks of liquid and then 2 weeks of puree/soft and then back to a normal diet. I saw the dietician on 18 March and she also confirmed this. I have the booklet in front of me which rather unhelpfully does not give any dietary advice for the fill - typical WM:rolleyes:.

Your body may have gone into starvation mode.

HTH.
