IBS pre op

Hi,

Has anyone done the slim fast pre op diet with IBS? I seem to be getting terrible complaints from my tummy!

Hey Sophie, I was fine on it pre op but post op in the liquid phase it made my stomach go crazy and I had vomitting and diarrhoea for my first 5 weeks post op. Turns out it was the lactose in the slimfast and all the milk/milk powder I'd been drinking so now I'm on soy and lactofree milk until it all settles down. Could you call your dietician and ask if there's a lactose free shake you could try or maybe see if they'd recommend switching to the low calorie food diet?

Thank you I had ibs before but it doesn't seem to like the banana slim fast. If I'm honest I don't trust myself on the food one. When they put me on it they said it was because I need to be on a low carb but I don't understand as it makes my diet 55% carbs x
