Hi guys

I was first in this morning, went down at 8.30, came out or resuss at 10.45.
I'm in no pain yet, been up for a wee and got changed etc..

If it wasn't for the dressings I'd think I'd not had anything done.
So I'm lay in bed using their free wifi to update you lot :)

Xx

Well done Emma, as Jaffa Cake (god i love jaffa's can you please call yourself asparagus tips or something lol) says you will really feel the wind, this is the worst pain so the more walking around you can do in the next day or two the better. Remember to be sure to rest as much as you can in between xx

hiya guys

alls good today too, ive had the dreaded left shoulder pain but the paracetamol is keeping me comfortable.
im a little bit disappointed with some of the after care at the hospital but over all im chuffed.

through the night last night, i rang for them to come to my room & asked them to take the IV port out of my arm as it was really really sore & not right. they spoke to me like i was complete idiot & i asked for some paracetamol (soluble), they insisted on doing it IV & as i already told them, there was a problem with & the line wasnt in properly, so the whole of the drip went stright into the tissue in my arm instead of the vein & all my arm is really swallon & leaking..its quite gross.
i know people make mistakes but i told them it was wrong & told them i didnt want it...but apparently im an idiot & dont know what im talking about.
also, i asked when i was allowed coffee last night about 6pm, they said theyd find out...no one arrived back to tell me. about 8pm i asked again, they said theyd find out...no one got back to me. i didnt bother asking again till this morning. i asked from 7am for a cup of coffee..i asked 4 times in total...it took me to 10:30 when my other half arrived, for them to actually bring me one.
i asked for some soluble paracetamol this morning too, and it took me just under an hour to actually get it.

i know theyre busy, and im a hca myself so i know how stressful things can get. but it really makes me mad how much money i paid out & im 100% certain id have got much better care in an nhs hospital.

i suppose the most important thing is i got an ace surgeon.

Oh you poor love... if you're paying... then you have a louder voice!
So sorry to hear about your arm... I always believe in trying to sort things out if possible at the time... so I don't collect 'too much mental baggage'... do hope that someone is going to listen to you and very very soon, I sometimes also wonder if weekend hospital stays have less staffing available... but please do whatever is best in the circumstances for you, it's you that really matters... sending loads of love and a hug... I would have willingly come to see you if I could, but in the meantime... rest and keep doing the best for you! xxx
