Hi
I have my first consultation with the biatric dept at Royal Derby in March, Ive suffered weight problems since 21yrs Feeling really ugly and horrid at minute, divorced etc Love my comfort food but know this will all have to stop, any help?
Welcome to the forum, we all have/have had issues with food and there will be someone going through/or will understand exactly what you are feeling/dealing with. So do make sure you share as people can provide a lot of support. For the comfort food you need to find things to replace the food - to break the habit of reaching for food as an emotional crutch. This is why the psychological support/counselling is such an important part of this journey - surgery alone may not be successful - it operates on our stomachs but not our heads. Understanding that is a big part of this journey.
Ditto... I now realise the way to build self worth is to care for me.. I cleanse and moisturise, look after feet bought a pedi thing. Eating healthier and the op are part of this self care. When were down we tend to neglect ourselves and overeat.
