Hello all I am at the beginning of my journey I guess, I have started the six week milk diet in prep for the op today watch this space !

Where? When? Which op? Lol :)

Wishing you all the best x

Hey Brendan, welcome to the site, and good luck :) xxx

Thank you can't believe finally feel like something's happening now x
yeah its a long journey, good luck with it. If you go to the user cp up the top, and fill in all your details, people will know all about your op, where, what and when etc, and will be able to give you advise based on their experience. They are a great bunch on here, any questions you may have, just ask, there's always someone that can help :) xxx

Welcome & good luck. If we can help we will.

Welcome and good luck :D

Welcome and good luck. Six week milk diet? Wow that's a long time mate so take it easy and good luck with it.

You're in good hands at Luton & Dunstable, they are amazing! I did four weeks of milk diet to lose 5% and show commitment before they'd accept me, then another two weeks just prior to surgery to shrink my liver. out of interest who is your surgeon or don't you know yet?

Welcome and best of luck. Six weeks arrgghh ... You will have forgotten what your teeth are for! :D

hello and welcome, 6 weeks is a very long time, i have to do the food version and only have to do 3 weeks, strange how different hospitals do it huh xx

Hi Brendan, lots and lots of luck with your 6 week milk diet, I'm dreading having to do 10 days of it!
There's loads of helpful info and advice to be had on this site, just take your time to look around.
Em xxxx

Hi guys , yeah six weeks long time it's 4 then 2 pre op , no I don't know who my surgeon is yet , second day so far so good surprising how filling milk is TBH.

Had some bizarre dreams about sausages for some reason last night!

I feel good and strangely strong willed to do this , I think a lot of it is down to the guys at the hospital being super cool Evan the psychologist ?, I've got band practice today so that will keep my mind occupied !

I went for a bike ride last night (in the dark) and done a few reps of weights .

My surgeon at L&D was Mr Jambulingam who was absolutely lovely, I also saw another one called Mr Barrecca who was also a lovely guy. There are two more there, Mr Whitelaw and Mr Jain - both I've heard nothing but good reports about. So whoever you get, you will be well looked after I'm sure! The 4 week milk diet (to make you lose 5% of your weight) was tough but knowing that no surgeon would see you until you'd done it spurred me on!! Then after a little break when you are told not to put weight back on, but can eat again in moderation, once you have seen the surgeon and you have your surgery date, they put you on the two week milk diet immediately before your op, so your liver shrinks - this time they don't care one way or another if you lose weight, it's purely for your liver - I was so scared of them not operating because my liver was too big, I stayed 100% on the straight and narrow with the diet!! obviously most people also lose a bit more, which is a good thing! I've not come into contact with anyone in the bariatric team who hasn't been brilliant, and they are always just a phone call away if you have any problems or worries.

Well I'm at the end of six days of the milk diet , and TBH I'm struggling but so far I've not cheated , it's the adverts on tv that are doing me in ?
