Walsall Manor have had an outbreak of the Nova virus bug.

This is for all hospital patients

PLEASE PLEASE make sure you use the anti bacteria hand wash when you enter and leave any hospital, Dr's office or clinic.
It only takes a second but might save you or your loved ones getting ill

You are also asked to challenge any of the medical staff and ask them if they have washed their hands even if they are wearing gloves.

You are not being rude just safe

The other big thing with norovirus is not going into hospital if you have had ANY symptoms in the last 72 hrs , it is most often spread by ignorant or selfish visitors .

Great message... everyone should do this when they enter any hospital aswell... lots of virus's around at the moment... and the nurovirus is a horrid one xx

There have been lots of hospitals affected by norovirus this winter and, while hand gels have their place, it is important to remember that it doesn't work on dirty hands and is not as good as regular hand washing with hot water and soap - sing happy birthday twice over in your head to get the time length right.

Also, the alcoholic hand gels only work on viruses if they are the anti viral as well as anti bacterial type - the best one is Purell VF148 which is anti viral, it can be bought on the internet but in few shops.

Bournemouth has restricted visitors to next of kin only due to the bug, i carry hand gel with me a good strong one!
I had already said hubby only as should only be in 2-3 days

All wards at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital remain closed to visitors, apart from next of kin only. It is not advisable to bring young children or frail people into hospital at this time. This is a precaution in response to high levels of Norovirus in the community.

We regret the visiting restrictions and understand the frustrations for family and friends and patients. The precautionary measures are necessary to ensure the safety of our patients, to limit the spread of infection and ensure the hospital remains open to patient admissions.

You're generally ok on surgical wards ar rbh hun , its the medical wards mainly & the precautions are in place cos there are so many ignorant / selfish people who have had symptoms but won't stay away

All Hospitals GP's and clinics should have anti bac wash by all doors.
I went with my daughter to see her GP NO hot water in the toilet, No soap and not a drop of anti bac wash anywhere.
I put in a complaint and the next time we went they had pulled out all the stops

As im in such a short time there is no need for loads of peeps coming in, best to reduce the risk to others
