Thanks for your good wishes everyone!
So glad I took hubby along for consultation - from initially being very sceptical he is now really supportive!
Still have to do pre op diet unfortunately but just gotta check tomorrow exactly which one and for how long. If it's for 2 weeks then have to start tomorrow - EEK!
Am now in a quandry about who to tell/not to tell/how will I cope over Xmas/will it be really obvious if I don't tell/etc etc - need some quiet time to have a good think about how I approach this - it's all happened so fast!

So glad for you, that is such a lovely holiday surprise. You are on your way!!!

:26::26::26:

I have to say I have a normal sized one and found it a pain to blend such a small amount, I had never really used it prior to the op and probably wont use it again, could of done with a little hand held on...washing the big one each time was a chore....poor you being on the pre op over christmas but it will be well worth it...I was lucky I did not have to do a pre op just ate healthy but I am sure knowing that surgery is just around the corner it will spur you on....I can feel your excitement coming through your posts lol..xx

Great news, congratulations on getting your date, just think what you will look like next Christmas xxxx

Well done Grom :) I got a Hinari Genie which I used a lot post op, as its a really powerful small blender and was great for whizzing up soups. Must admit, since then it's stayed in it's box lol.

Congatulations - thats really quick, have you gone private?

Yes I have - I couldn't bear trying to go thro NHS. Last time I talked to my doc about it she thought she had the answer to all my problems - vouchers for Slimming World!!!:8855:

thanks Shel - will have a look at that one!

Hi Congratulations on your op date are you having band or bypass?

I always use a handblender you can get um for about £5 and they do small and big quantitys.

Good luck

Thanks - is that one of those like a stick? I've got one of those but wasn't sure if would get it smooth enough?

I fully intended going for band surgery but on hearing all the facts and figures etc I was swayed towards a bypass. I booked the date and had blood tests done but didn't decide on the spot which option to go for. We came home (hubby went with me) and discussed it last night and decided to go for the bypass option as felt it was more appropriate for the amount i want to lose and for my eating habits etc.

They were great at the clinic and didn't try to sway me one way or another - just gave me a lot of facts and figures to think about.

I can't believe it is all happening as I only really started thinking about surgery as an option at the end of last month!
