You're gonna be fine... I was so teary and abiotic and when the First Lady went down I started thinking what if... When she came back she grabbed my hand on the way past me in the corridor and she said. It's great you'll be ok. I took it all in my stride from that point I had a simple straight forward op. Feel 85%ok now. And the other two ladies with me had massive health complications co-morbidities and one a hell of a lot bigger than me.. Yet were all here this morning chatting over our purred porridge . Nothing can stop those nerves but when your on the other side you wonder what all the fuss is about xx

Well done darling. Rest, rest and rest with lots of getting up and walking to the loo in between! A good stretch to ease and disperse the wind pain helped me too. I'm doing really good. On purée food already and homeward bound later today. I've been very well cared for and met some lovely new friends :)
I'm doing great yep puréed food I'm shocked as post op diet sheets say liquids for 2 weeks ?? Oh well I can manage purée a treat had a whole tablespoon of puréed porridge for my breakfast haha. Well done your doing fab keep it up x

Sheffield Thornbury hospital Mr Ackroyd

Its my first full day at home and not finding it too bad. been walking around but cant shift the wind between my shoulder blades, its making my back hurt like mad. managed half a slim fast so far today and 2 cups of water/juice, having the other half of slimfast for my tea. i know im not having half as much as i should be but really wanting to take my time and finding the full feeling (like someone is pressing on my breast bone with their full weight?) is coming on quite fast. hoping it gets better

Cause you can join in the more the merrier I had mine done with mr ackroyd he is great thornberry is very good too the staff are great good luck
The wind will die down the more you can move the better it is

Its normal to feel nervous at this stage but you'll be ok
If you weren't nervous would be a little strange
Take care and try and rest before your op

Hi all, had a bit of a rough journey. Blood pressure crashed during surgery so was being monitored closely. Had me hooked up to fluids but every time I got up I was close to fainting which was a bummer as the wind pain in my right shoulder was excruciating! Anyway did a blood test and they recon I had a post op leak probably from a port site so I was give 2 units of blood last night and am felling a lot better today but may need another tomorrow. This was most definitely not in my plan...........
Not managing enough fluid as then nausea is awful but I'm hopeful for a good nights sleep tonight. Oh and you should see my bruised tummy - very impressive.

Hope the rest of you guys are feeling well.

Take care
X

Was a bit Nicola, I was giving it plenty of 'why have I done this to myself'. Just a blip hopefully.
Hope you are feeling all better after your complications x

Good to read all the positive stories.

My surgery is on Sunday (19th) and had an admission time of 7am at Dolan Park, hopefully means I will be banded early (isn) in the day.

Hope you have a better night mantra really takes it out of you when something like that happens
Take care were all thinking off you

Thanks maphillips, having some ice chips before bed and I'm gonna be waking up in the morning feeling ace (well hopefully)
Night x
