Just had surgery

well done

Michel I had my sleeve exactly 4 weeks ago and I'm feeling so good- found it hard at the beginning but all worth it!!

Hi- well at first I thought I'd never leave hospital as found it so difficult to drink!! But after few days I got used to the little and often and now with puréed food I'm finding it easier- just need more time for my meals now as a yoghurt can take me 20 mins!! I'm supposed to try lumpy food now 5th week and very nervous! How are you feeling with pain and all??

I'm ok. Drinking is ok. Struggle with some soups. Trying to just get to grips with the changes. Have you weighed yourself? I have twice. I'm trying not too but it's sooo tempting. Where are you based. I live in Eastbourne. East Sussex. Had surgery in London x

I can't stop weighing myself lol I have to cut it to once a week- have lost 2.5stone(10lbs was on Pre op diet though). I live in London and had my surgery here at the uch. And as for toilet I've been prob 6-8 times over 4 weeks! Haven't taken anything for it though as I feel ok.. How much are you aiming to lose?

I'd love to lose 9st over the year. Hopefully ill achieve that. Pls keep in touch as yr the first person who I've met who's had surgery right near mine hahahaha. It's good to share problems and exchange info. Xx

Will def keep it touch and compare notes and worries! When you get to 50 posts then I think we can private message too. Im finding it hard now thinking which foods mash well lol

Omg eve I ate some soup. Little too lumpy and its hell. I've learnt a lesson there!! Ohhh jelly next few days. I was hungry and my eyes said yes but my tummy said "go on try " hahaha ohh not good. Also think I've got a wound infrction coming bit mucky on stitches seeing dr at 4 tomorrow. Xx hope ur ok. I guess most thing mash. I've just brought a book on eBay. Called weight loss surgery receipes for dummies. Hope it's going to teach me to eat better. X

Ah so when I was in hospital for op I met a woman there who had it 2 weeks before but had tried solid food too early and she ended up in hospital! So even though I have been desp to skip stages that put me off and I've been super careful and patient!! One of my wounds was yuck and oozed for a week after but as it didnt smell the dr said not infected and then it crusted over and still a bit crusted even now! But just stick to clear soups it will be worth it in the end!! It's scary isn't it how our bodies are so diff and no knowing which foods will agree with us!!

Very scary. I used to pick and graze all day. Now i can't eat a whole cuppa soup! Hahaha. Amazing what the drs can do. I need to train my brain better. My eyes still see it but my tummy said NO!!! I'm ok now. Just have been drinking some juice I'm barely eating but was told by my surgeon that its ok to just drink as my body needs to heal. I've learnt that lesson the hard way today and it won't be repeated Eve, hell no. Xx
