Low fat low sugar ice cream anyone?

karen i got some of them skinny cow ice cream lollies, ive not tried them yet though so i dont know if theyre ok or not. but tescos sell some low fat ice cream im sure ive heard someone say it. i cant remembr the name, summat like franks i think it was

Thanks Dawny. Thing is most of them have around 13g per 100g of sugars and the dietician said stick to 8g per 100g.

I have emailed her to ask if she knows of any I can have.

Karen, I cope with the Skinny Cow ones but then I'm not much of a dumper. The best way is to make it yourself. My current favorite is 300gm LF Fromage Frais, 1 tub Muller Light Yogurt (you choose), 1-2 tbs granulated sweetner and chopped fruit to taste. Plonk it all in an ice-cream maker and Bob's your uncle!

sorry karen i havent got any at the moment, but i asked my dietician about it and she said as long it was just a spoonful it would be ok. i havent dumped with it.

I got a reply from the dietician:

Hi Karen you won’t ever be having 100g of the skinny cow ice cream therefore have one you should be fine with it. Patients can tolerate the skinny cow ones without difficulties

jennie

So off I trotted to Sainsbury's who list Skinny Cow on their on line shopping and they didn't have any

when i look at the sugar on things, i look at the actual serving, not the 100g bit, cos like your dietician said, you wont be eating that much. ive been ok up to now, but then i may not be much of a dumper. im glad you were told you could have skinny cos, ive had some in my freezer for a couple of weeks now and not had any. is there any where else you can get them from, i got mine from tesco.
all the best. hugs x

Hi Kay, Walls do a light ice-cream and I'm pretty sure this is what I had after my op in the Spire with Mr Ammori. My taste buds have changed so much that I can't even tolerate ice-cream now.

No, no, no, no! You would think so, wouldn't you? But I was looking at this only yesterday and it's about 13-15 g per 100g!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I was shocked because I would've thought diabetic ice cream would've been safe!
I'm going to buy an ice cream maker!
