Hey!

I am new to the site, had the band done at Dolan park last Thursday. The milky/soup(I HOPE YOU MEEN MILK OR SOUP DIET LOL) diet has made me pretty sick and I really don't feel I can't manage it for another 6 days, has any one got any tips on how you managed to get through?,to be honest i had no appetite till recently so the soup bit was ok as i ate very little i just kept liquids and vits up x

I got the WGA package, is anyone else finding it not all they thought it would be in terms of paitent care etc? NO not at all i got my apt threw 4 days after op although did not get a phone call but i went in knowing that after care as in apt and phone calls are not 5 star so iv been pleasantly suprised that i had no hassle with apt

Hi i am in my 3rd wk post op, am always hungry and seem to be able to eat anything, (bread, pasta rice, meat).

Can anyone advise, is this normal?

Does the fills stop this??

Im three weeks and a bit past op ,and im hungry too. and i can eat almost everything.

But my weight has not gone up, it has stayed the same ,so im ok with it as im just getting back to normal so im fit and healthy after the op ,and not looking at the diet side of thing till im discharged and can start fills. As then its weight loss time (although i understand it can take a few fills to get to the sweet spot)

how are you feeling? I'm starting to get really hungry!!
really fed up with liquid diet now want something more but a bit scared in case it hurts!

hi girls, i get my band done on monday, and am terrifed. was really excited, and stuffed myself silly before my milk diet started. actually i was so sick of food i was looking forward tobeing hungary..... or so i thought! now i am starving and the thought of soup seems like pure heaven to me.
hopefully it will go well. my mum is flying over with me tomorrow ready for monday!!!! hope to loose this quickly. and be a size 12 forever. i am 5'9 so size 12 is my correct size. cant wait. hope i dont die now. that sounds terrible but my mum said that to me last night. please girls keep in contact with me. thanks

I had my op on the 9th at Dolan, we must have been in the waiting room together! I was the one with short dark hair and was there with my husband, mum and step dad.

Like you I am hungery, in fact i'm so bloody sick of milk and soup I am counting down the sleeps till soft food (6 more sleeps...lol). I have been doing some research and some places say liquid for 2 weeks, others have you on soft after a few days. I am keeping in there with the liquid but have tweaked it a little. Try some low fat ice cream and soften it up, doesn't sound much but it is a welcome break from yogurt - weightwatchers do some good ones.

How are you feeling in yourself? I am tired but so excited for my first band fill and getting a proper start on my new eating plan. Dare I say it but I went for a gym induction today, I am praying it will help with the loose skin as I really don't think I can afford a tummy tuck! I lost 5 stone on weightwatchers a few years ago and my skin refused to go back...argh

Hi Cheryl, good luck for monday. You will be fine. I had my band on 9th september at Dolan park with Mr Super. All went well. Painful for first 3-4 days, but everyone is different with how much pain they have post op. I went with the cheaper package with WGA. Had x-ray this week to check band placement and all is fine. Cant wait for fill as not lost any weight for 3 weeks, but dont expect to now until after first or second fill. Have lost 18lbs in total so far. Anyway good luck, keep us posted on your progress and dont worry.

i wasn't in waiting room as stayed at dolan park wed night as 1st onlist they wanted to do my bloods wednesday afternoon. What room were you in? i was in room 28.Went down to theatre at 8.30am and after that was really poorly all day as had reaction to anastetic.

I have moved onto soft foods now as really hungry and its going fine.
Mostly cottage pie and mash but oh god it tastes lush!!
I'm still sore thought that might have gone by now??
how are you feeling?

Yeah I am still sore to, especially at the port site, it is getting better though as I am only needing pain killers at night.

I am still on the liquid but for breakfast I am having weetabix wih loads of milk to that it is so soft, its practically thinner than yogurt.

Are you on the WGA package? Do you know where you are getting your x-ray done?

Hey Thinkslim

No we don't get any fills at all with are package but I called the band fill people they recommend in are dischage pack and if you pay them £125 before the xray they will arrange for you to have your fill at the same time.

The woman on the phone also recommended a book for people on the WGA as it gives you all the info for after care - its called The Lap Band Solution by PAUL O'Brien.The woman on the phone will offer it to you for £25 but I just got it on amazon for £15. C x

Hiya, I bought 2 books about the grastic band last week from amazon the're classed as used but dont look it. It came to £7 in total with postage as well. Well worth the money and really informative.

I will have a look for that one as Im with THG and have no aftercare.

I got my xray and first fill booked for the 22nd Nov, I am having it done at Droitwich Spa Hospital. I wish it could be sooner but at least this hospital is closer to Swindon compaired to the one they first booked with me.

I bought.....

1) Laparoscopic Adjustable gastric banding by Jessie H Ahroni
and
2) Weight loss surgery with the AGB bu Robert W Sewell

They are both really good, worth getting but as I said before go on amazon and they have used ones for a couple of quid. Mine look brand new.
