Mr Super

Hi i'm having my band op on Mnday 10th Aug with Mr Super so will report back to you what he uses (might be super glue lol) & how it all went! - Are you going to Dolan park? ;)

PMSL @ Super glue that did make me :rotflmao: I hope everything goes well for you on the 10th and please do report back on how it all went, I am going to Birmingham Heartlands :D

Hi Claire, I had Mr Super, I found him to be really lovely, he sat for about 15 minutes talking cars etc with my hubby (he was going to buy a new car the next day) He was very calming, explained what would happen at the op etc

He used glue which was great and my scars have healed brilliantly, he's a very tidy surgeon!

I didn't see the programme but heard different views about him on here, no-one knows what goes on in theatre when ur out cold, personally I dont care, as long as he does a good job that should all you should be worried about

Good luck

Kate x

Sorry Kate i forgot to ask, did you have anything put in your band during the op or was it empty? How long after your op was your first band fill?

X

i been checkin out my scars..........
i have no stitch marks i think they stiched me inside the scars i can remeber a stitch popping through, i have no dots.

Liz, as you are an experienced bander, can you tell me why there are different size bands, i thought they were a one size fits all lol X

Thank you Kate, thats very true no one knows what goes on when your out cold, just cant believe i have been given this opportunity :D he seemed very friendly when i went for my first appointment, although i seen one of his registrars which i was a bit gutted about, but at least he said YES to me which was what i was hoping for :D. I had glue when i had my gall bladder out, i have just one scar underneath my chest that i had a problem with it keep protruding and was really itchy for about a year but i was reassured it was ok, its not itching now but you can still see it. Was you daycase or overnight? I am going with a open mind that it could be overnight. X

I was over-night, I live in N.I so flew over on the Friday and stayed in Dolan Park Friday night, had my op at about 8.30am Saturday morning and stayed Saturday night again, although they did tell I could go and stay with my husband on the Sat nite if I wished but I declined and said I would rather be in hospital incase something happened!
I didn't meet Mr Super until 30 minutes before my op  thank God I liked him, I would have died otherwise

I had 1ml put in during the op, had my op on 27th june and had my 1st fill on 31st july, 2nd fill is 2nd September :)

You'll be grand :D, I had my op 6 weeks ago tomorrow and I have already lost 20lb's and 17 1/2 inches, gone from a size 20 to a 16 and im over the bloody moon, I cant wait to be a 10/12 and its even better knowing it will happen rather than guessing how much weight I would loose on every other diet I tried!!

Good luck x

Thats fantastic kate, no wonder your over the moon, i just cant wait to have it done now and start being on the losing side. I am dieting at the moment and have lost 5lb in 3 weeks i get weighed again at my doctors on Tuesday, not really looking forward to it as i dont think i have done very well AT all, not been very good, but the weather has been awful and to be honest, i havent managed to get my head round it all, i am going to have a chat with my doctor on tuesday and be open and honest with her ( she is fantastic ) and get back on track :)

Did you feel there was a restriction there straight away after the op? was you craving food after the op? How long was you on pre op for? I've been told to start mine the end of August, so i will be on a 4 week pre op, but i have TRIED to start it now to get a head start. X

You'll be fine, we all have set backs, dont dwell on them, just pick yourself up and get back on track!

Did you feel there was a restriction there straight away after the op?

I wasn't in the mood for eating at all, I felt awful and I wont lie to you for almost 2 weeks post op I regretted my decision BIG TIME but im well over that now! I had no energy, wanted food but didn't want it if you know what I mean, I was sick of soup etc but it had to be done

was you craving food after the op?

Not really craving food, its hard to explain how you feel after the op, you want food but you just cant handle it properly, its takes a while for your brain to realise what has happened!

How long was you on pre op for?

I was on pre-op for 1 week, I was on a low cal diet, had quite a few take-aways that week but small portions, I only booked my op 2 weeks before I had it!

I've been told to start mine the end of August, so i will be on a 4 week pre op, but i have TRIED to start it now to get a head start. X

Its up to you but I wouldn't start it early, you'll be on it long enough and might get fed up of it, speak to your doc about that!

Are you on the low cal diet or milk and yoghurt?

I have a choice of 5 diets i can do pre op, I am just doing slimfast at the moment so nothing drastic, think i might change that tomorrow as going to be on slimfast for some time later on and dont want to get sick of it. The pre op's i have to choose from is a Real Food diet, Meal Replacement diet, such as Slimfast, Boots Shapers or Supermarket own label brands, i can do them alone, by having 3-4 meal replacement milk shakes, smoothies, soups or bars per day, or i can do 2 meal replacements and a light meal of 300 calories or use portions from the Real Food diet. I can do a 800-1000 calorie diet, a very low calorie diet either Cambridge Diet or lighterlife. And then there's the Milk and Yoghurt diet, so i am a bit spoilt for choice really, as i havent got to stick to just one diet, i can have 1 diet one day and then a different one the next day, so there is plenty of variety there which is good.
I think the first 2 weeks of any diet is going to be the worse so i am expecting that at least for when i have had the operation. I think your right about speaking to my doctor, the thing is i have to lose between 7-14kgs before the op so i thought if i start it now then i know it can be achieved, it's just not going very well at the moment, i think tomorrow is going to be a new start and get me backside into gear and get on with it lol hope the weather starts picking up then i can go on long walks with my dogs, not much fun when its bucketing it down with rain lol. Thanks for all the info Kate you've been a great help :) X

Im still learning myself Claire but if there is anything I can help you with just ask and if I dont know the answer im sure someone else will

Good luck on the diet hun x

I'm wondering what Dr Super will say to me when I eventually get to see him.

Dr Taheri said to lose 5-10% then he will refer me to Mr Super. Now will Mr Super then say I have to lose 7-14kg on top before he will do the opp? Hmmm
