Hi everyone.
19 days out from my bypass and generally problem-free, but I’m not a very happy post-opper!
I know it’s bad to make comparisons with others, and that it’s early days, but things really are looking a bit bleak right now.
Since my surgery I’ve followed everything to the letter…and only lost a measly 6lbs! Although obviously I’ve failed with conventional diets for years, I could have probably lost this same amount AND had the luxury of actually eating!
Luckily I did manage to lose another 6lbs on the pre-op diet, but when I read about people losing stones in the first few weeks, I begin to feel a bit disheartened…and then skip to the extreme and think ‘what if I’m one of the failure stories you hear about?’.
Some advice as to where I’m going wrong would be greatly appreciated, or maybe just to hear from someone who has had a similar experience would be reassuring.
Meanwhile I’ll trudge on through purees :sigh:
