hi all im jan
I have my funding in place and am seeing surgeon on feb 8th getting a little nervous now as its becoming real not just a dream iv had for years .
Can anyone tell me can they say no now? that's my biggest fear.
Iv been losing a little weight which they are happy with but had a few sweets over Christmas naughty i know and yes i feel guilty but trying not to let it get me down...

Hi Jan and welcome to the forum.. I am sure you will find all the advice and support you need on here... Congratulations on your funding.. In theory I suppose they can always say no! they have that option, but it would be exceptional circumstances I would think, or if the surgery itself would be too high risk etc. If you already have your funding in place the hard bit is almost over.. What surgery are you aiming for? bypass, band, sleeve?? and how much do you have to lose??

Welcome to the forum.

Don't worry about what happened over Christmas, just work on reaching your dream now. It is possible to shift any pounds you put on fairly quickly.

Good luck in Feb x

Welcome Jan and I would echo Amanda's comments - that if the funding is in place they are unlikely to say no/withdraw it now unless you were not fit for surgery (became very ill?). In my case I have to be fully assessed for surgery before funding can be agreed... Good luck :)

ps what hospital/PCT are you under?

:welcome2:Jan

Just recently joined too and everyone here has been so supportive. Don't beat yourself up over the Christmas treats ... It is over, done a and dusted. Now we can both get back on the straight and narrow :greenapple: x

Welcome!!! We are at similar stages with same amount to lose. I am at Chelsea and Westminster and I'm also paranoid that someone along the process is going to say NO!!!
Hopefully 2013 will be kind to us x

Wellcome to all new comers its lovely to see new people coming through wanting to change their lives for the better. It can be a long loborious journey but the end reult can be amazing, so fasten your seatbelts turbulents do come along. I personally had the bypass and have been reasonably well and have very few problems, I also have friends who have had a leeve and they to have managed very well. I think the initial decision is made taking into account the way you eat and what you eat. So best of luck and keep posting your progress we are always interested xx
