Are you on the milk diet? Ive told a few friends - those who see me daily, all my family and obviously my husband its a positive change and they all know how unhappy I am with my weight. No one has said anything negative to me so far, lots of support. Do you think you'd tell more people in the future?

Hi TC33 and butterfly_lady welcome to the Nov gang. Well just had my pre assessment. Bloods, ECG, basic observation and history. Listened to heart and lungs and that was it. No problems. I will Weigh myself tomorrow Flick and let you know. X

Oh ok, not too bad then? What kind of history did they ask you about? My depression will be dragged up and I dont wanna talk about that!

I've been on medications for depression in the past, didn't mention it. You will have to if your still on meds but it only ticking boxes, like have you always been over weight, medical history, have you had an anaesthetic before . You'll be fine

I am still on meds for depression. Dvue to weight, betrayal & bad birth experience with my son. Not fussed about anything else but talking about that is hard and brings me to tears everytime

They won't want to know the ins and outs of the depression they'll only want to know what your on. Don't worry it won't be an issue. Huge numbers of people heavy or not have run ins with depression. I had post natal depression with my first child and it came back after caring for my nan with Alzheimer's till she died. We all have our limits it's not a failure just part of being human! You'll be fine! X

Morning. Well start of day 4 and I weighed myself this morning. Lost. 7lbs so far. I think that's a good start x hope your pre assessment goes well today Flick. X

Omg! 7lb loss is amazing!!! Well done! I will find out my total today after almost 10 days on the milk diet. I started my period after 5 months yesterday so im not sure if thats going to affect the amount ive lost?

I guess you will be about 2 lb heavier than you acutely are due to the period. How fantastic though! One they have started again and it will be finished by the 12th. Everything is already slotting into place for you. Only positive thoughts! Let me know how you get on. X

Okies, so have just had my appointment for pre op. Everything came back completely normal!! If I dont hear anything about my bloods its a big green light for surgery! Yay! And Ive lost 10lb in 10 days which I am ecstatic about!!!!!

A stone in 2 weeks... wow, ive never lost this much on any diet ive done, especially so much so soon! I will be so pleased with myself if I manage that. And im hoping once TOM is over ill lose any water weight that goes with it. I was so nervous that I may have gained. Ahhhhh!!!
Im not sure if ipads & iphones work? I know we'll be in the old part of the hospital on E level. I didn't see the usual bariatric team nurse so she couldn't answer any questions I wanted to ask. I need to wait til op day but I think some of the answers they'll give me will scare me more. You could always phone and ask

Yeah forgot to say the normal nurse had a horse riding accident. I saw the upper gastric nurse specialist instead but pretty much know all I need to know as I've been a practicing nurse for 24 years so surgery part I'm ok with. Just don't want to be in pain and worry about how the after effects of the surgery will effect life. ( same as everyone else) I bet you will have lost just over a stone but surgery. Glad it's done try and relax now and wait for the 12th it will be here in no time. If their any thing I can help with let me know. X
