November 2013 Surgeries

Hi Flick, thank you, just got my first pair of size 12 jeans! Can't believe it. How's that baby doing? Are you feeling well?

That's insane!! How brilliant, you must feel so good? :) You look amazing :D

Just got back from the hospital after a 3rd bleed this pregnancy. Thankfully baby is fine but my nerves are shot I tell ya :( Im 20 weeks on tuesday. Hope everything stays ok, doctor wasn't worried, saw nothing bad on the scan. Back to hospital tomorrow for an Anti D jab. I want to take a sonographer and machine home with me. Roll om Feb please x

You'd be surprise how many people have that! Great news the scans ok. I can understand why you feel that way though. Very stressful. Have you been able to eat ok?

Apparently its 'Cervical Ectropion' ?? Nothing was explained to me so I have no idea what that entails.

My apetite has returned, im finding it easier to eat but I must REALLY fancy it or else im sick. Have only lost 1lb in the past 3 weeks though. Strange seeing the scales frozen after loss after loss each week. Hard to get my head around. Least when they start to go up its for a good reason and not me just getting fat all over again!

What Is A Cervical Erosion (ectropion)?
The cervix is the lowest part of the uterus (womb) and is the part that can be felt at the top of the vagina.
A cervical erosion is a raw-looking granular appearance on the cervix. It occurs when the inner lining of the cervical canal (columnar epithelium) comes out onto the part of the cervix that can be visualised with a speculum. It appears as a red, velvet-like area.
Cervical erosion is related to the hormone called oestrogen and is common in young girls, during pregnancy and in women on the contraceptive pill. It should not be regarded as a sign of disease because it is frequently found in perfectly healthy women.
Gynaecolgists now tend to use the term cervical ectopy and at one time it was called a cervical ectropion. The cervix is not eroded and there is no ulceration - it is simply that the columnar epithelium is much thinner than the squamous epithelium and so the underlying blood vessels show through more clearly, making the area look red and raw.
Cervical erosion is a completely benign condition and it does not lead to cancer.

What Symptoms May Occur With A Cervical Erosion?
Most young women, particularly if they are taking the combined oral contraceptive pill, have a cervical erosion.
Most women with a cervical erosion have no symptoms. The cervical erosion is observed during routine pelvic examination. If there are no symptoms there is no reason to offer treatment for a cervical erosion.
It follows that many women with symptoms including vaginal discharge without evidence of infection will have a cervical erosion.
Another symptom that can sometimes be attributable to a cervical erosion is bleeding after intercourse - postcoital bleeding. In these circumstances, your doctor may offer to treat the cervix by destroying the surface. No guarantee can be given that this treatment will reduce or alleviate symptoms.
Bleeding in early pregnancy can be related to cervical erosion.

Hope that help you understand the condition a little more. Everything should be fine! Small weight gain at your stage of pregnant is good, think of that little person growing inside you. Just try and eat health and you and the baby will be fine. It's very exciting. I'll be thinking of you. X

Thank you so much for posting that! It sounds alot worse than it actually is.
I spent the entire day on my feet, lifting things, bending about and other general stuff. Took it out of me! I blame that :( Lesson learnt and I wont be doing that again! Must learn to go careful though :/

My crappy sweetie cravings have calmed down now and im enjoying normal food again. Been eating lots of salad this week just need to work on my protein and carbs. Seeing the dietitian on tuesday hopefully she wont be too mad about my weight loss. She was concerned at me losing 4lb ... over 2 stone later... :/

Glad it was of some help. Hope you dietician appt goes well. Might be worth using some protein powder short term. I'm taking some again at the moment as my hair is so thin, I'm loosing load at the moment despite sea kelp, zinc and special shampoo. Still you don't get anything for nothing! Everything has a knock on effect and no bald patches yet so all good. Snacking on cold chicken is good to bp up the protein if you can manage it. Keep up your good work your half way to holding that precious little life in your arms! X
