Op was today!

Well I've had my band today! Currently feeling very stiff and having difficulties sitting up, no other pain/ gas or anything though! Anyone had these problems after day 1? I've managed to loose 4 kilos on Pre op diet which was only 1 week!! Luce xx

Hi Luce and welcome!

Expect to feel uncomfortable for at least a few days, you may still get wind pains but if you move around little and often that should help.

Hope you continue to recover well but take some pain relief if you need to x

Hiya Luce - Lovely to see your back safely from surgery x

I think you will find that the stiffness etc; is the after effects of surgery.
Your abdomen will be quite swollen and very bruised around the area that incisions were made, and although not very large marks it can still be quite uncomfortable. You will find each day that you feel a little better and after a week or two you will be feeling more able to do a bit more.
Once you are able to walk about a little bit you will find the stiffness decreases.

Hi all I thought I would check in with everyone as day 1 is over! I woke feeling really well, think it was the morphine!! But had the worst night sleep, had bad shoulder pain n coulnt sleep on my side. Today I feel better, just very stiff. Have managed 2 teaspoons of yoghurt but really can't even think about food! Disneymom, I'm from the uk and have had the band u fill with saline after 6 weeks, I'm not sure of the technical term I hope u r well too xxx

Good for you Luce, hope you are feeling a bit better....the shoulder pain could have been wind I know I got pain in the shoulder area with it. Take it nice and easy and give your body the time it needs to recover (HUG) XX

Good morning, how is everyone? I had mine fitted on Wed, I'm pretty gassy (nice!) and a gorg shade of black and blue. I was feeling pretty rough this morning but much better now, have managed 1 very sloppy weetabix. Take care xx

Hi Sarah, congrats to u too! Where did u have ur surgery? How u feeling today? I seem to be sleeping an awful lot, 3/4 hour naps alongside my 9 hours at night! I hope this is ok and I do keep trying to walk around, just feel very stiff. However, 2 weeks after my heaviest weight I'm now a stone and half a pound lighter!! Luce x
