Yes, I am sooooooo excited! I know some people get quite nervous on the run up to their op...maybe it's a bit too soon yet but I'm not nervous at all, just really happy...I couldn't sleep properly last night, how sad am I, lol?xxx

Thanks Dotty chic, yes, I am really chuffed, expected to wait the full 18 weeks (thinking I would be eating baby food for Xmas, lol) but am so pleased I have a date to look forward to now...only 6 weeks away & I know it will fly by! All this waiting but I am finally getting closer! xx

Hey Annie, cheers for being so kind...yeah, I'm definitely a little sad but it's sweet of you to say I'm not!
I know exactly how you feel with the envy thing.....this forum is such a wonderful place for support & advice from those who have been through it, but on a purely envious note, I have also found it quite hard going some days to cope with reading about others who are imminently having their ops...it's a toss op between being really happy for them & deeply jealous that it's not me! Despite all the waiting though, time really does seem to fly by....when your op comes around, you will look back & see it did for you too xxx

Hi Angie, Thanks for posting back. You're right about this site, right now it is my source of inspiration and motivation. Each time I feel a little unsure or inclined to sneek a naughty treat, I log on and read peoples stories and before I know it my craving has passed.

Am now 16 days and 20lb less into the milk diet and whilst I've been told that I can change to low carb and high protein, I am sticking with it a little longer due to the excellent weight loss. Am hoping that the surgeon will see that I am serious and trying as hard as possible to be fit for surgery. I was also told that a surprisingly high number of people cancel at the last minute (for various reasons) and that they have a cancellation list of people that can be called. So either way, sticking with the diet a little longer may get me closer to my surgery date or will just make me fitter and either is good!

All the best, I can't wait to hear about your experience once you are out of hospital.

A BIG, HUGE THANK YOU to Gaelic Girl Allie for her support and for meeting me in Glasgow. For someone to go out of their way and meet up with a stranger and offer such friendship was much appreciated.

Ive been waiting 2 years and have been referred to 3 different hospitals.

I have not seen Mr Kendrick but i did see someone at Wolverhampton. Wolverhampton then referred me to Walsall for the op.

Ive been at Walsall about 16 months, and had my pre op tests in May.
