Debs and Michael are who you're thinking of.

When you went were you the only brit there at the time or did you have a room mate?

My room mate was a lovely girl from Ireland and it was great to have someone fluent with you even though the staff did their best they understood more than they could reply with. Dr Cierny - did you have him too? His english was good but you couldn't keep him chatting all day.

Hi and welcome to the forum.x

couldnt you be refered to Sunderland for wls Pat ? x

Hi it was Deborah & Michael, very friendly & supportive. I was the only English speaking person yeah so I did feel a little lonely occasionally but slept a lot anyway

& no I enquired about WLS in the UK but they said I wouldn't find a surgeon who would do it with a BMI of 40 but I knew what I needed long-term so I researched further :)
I made the right decision

3 years ago? Well I wish I'd checked now. My bloody GP eh!

YES..... i had mine in 2005 my bmi was 42, 40 or above qualifies here under the guidelines x

Typical, never trust your GP fully. Mine took my mother off blood pressure tablets. She started having headaches & pain in her eyes (pressure) etc, before I knew about it & told her to go straight back. Another doc was flabbergasted with her history
